TSNTyndale Study Notes:

7:1-3 When the Ark was brought to its place (see 5:13-14), the glorious presence of the Lord descended on the Temple. The divine glory remained in the Temple, preventing the priests from entering to perform their service (see “The Glory of God” Theme Note and “God’s Glory with His People” Theme Note).

UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: translate-symaction

(Occurrence 0) they bowed down with their faces to the ground on the stone pavement

(Some words not found in UHB: and=all/each/any/every sons_of Yisrael saw in/on/at/with,come_down the,fire and,glory_of YHWH on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in the,house and,bowed_down faces towards=land on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in the,pavement and,worshiped and,gave_thanks to/for=YHWH that/for/because/then/when good that/for/because/then/when to,forever steadfast_love_of,his )

This is a position of humility and worship. Alternate translation: “they lay down on the ground with their faces touching the stone pavement”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / abstractnouns

(Occurrence 0) his covenant loyalty endures forever

(Some words not found in UHB: and=all/each/any/every sons_of Yisrael saw in/on/at/with,come_down the,fire and,glory_of YHWH on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in the,house and,bowed_down faces towards=land on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in the,pavement and,worshiped and,gave_thanks to/for=YHWH that/for/because/then/when good that/for/because/then/when to,forever steadfast_love_of,his )

If your language does not use an abstract noun for the idea behind the word covenant loyalty, you can express the same idea with the adjective “loyal” and the verb “promise.” Alternate translation: “God will always be loyal to us because of his covenant” or “God will always faithfully do for us what he promised”
