TSNTyndale Study Notes:

2:31 The Lord’s anger turned to an appeal. He questioned why the Israelites considered life in obedience to him a desert of death and deprivation (Num 21:5), full of the evil and terror of darkness (Job 24:17; 1 Jn 1:5-6).

(Some words not found in UHB: the, generation you_all see word YHWH ?,wilderness been to,Israel if earth/land thick_darkness why say people,my roam no come again/more to,you )

The phrase “this generation” refers to the people who lived when Jeremiah lived. Alternate translation: “You who live today, pay attention to what I, Yahweh, say to you”
