BSB At that time it will be said to this people and to Jerusalem, “A searing wind from the barren heights in the desert blows toward the daughter of My people, but not to winnow or to sift;

OEB  ⇔ This message shall then be declared
⇔ To Jerusalem and this people:
 ⇔ A glowing wind from the desert
⇔ Cometh straight upon My people,
 ⇔ But not to winnow or cleanse–

WEB At that time it will be said to this people and to Jerusalem, “A hot wind blows from the bare heights in the wilderness toward the daughter of my people, not to winnow, nor to cleanse.

NET “At that time the people of Judah and Jerusalem will be told,
 ⇔ ‘A scorching wind will sweep down
 ⇔ from the hilltops in the desert on my dear people.
 ⇔ It will not be a gentle breeze
 ⇔ for winnowing the grain and blowing away the chaff.

And of Jerusalem: “A dry wind of high places in the wilderness,
The way of the daughter of My people
(Not for winnowing, nor for cleansing),

FBV At that time the people of Jerusalem will be told, “A burning wind from the bare hills of the desert is blowing toward the Jerusalem, but not to blow away the chaff or the dust.

T4T ¶ When that happens, Yahweh will say to the people of Jerusalem,
 ⇔ “A huge army will come to attack you.
⇔ They will not be like a gentle breeze that separates wheat from chaff.
 ⇔ They will be like a very hot wind that blows in from the desert [MET].

GNV At that time shall it bee saide to this people and to Ierusalem, A dry winde in the hie places of the wildernes commeth towarde ye daughter of my people, but neither to fanne nor to clense.

CB Then shal it be saide to the people & to Ierusalem: there commeth a warme wynde from the north thorow the waye of my people, but nether to fanne, ner to clese.
  (Then shall it be said to the people and to Yerusalem: there cometh/comes a warme wind from the north through the way of my people, but neither to fanne, nor to clese.)

WYC In that tyme it schal be seide to this puple and to Jerusalem, A brennynge wynd in the weies that ben in desert, ben the weies of the douytir of my puple, not to wyndewe, and not to purge.
  (In that time it shall be said to this people and to Yerusalem, A brennynge wind in the ways that been in desert, been the ways of the douytir of my people, not to wyndewe, and not to purge.)

LUT Zur selbigen Zeit wird man diesem Volk und Jerusalem sagen: Es kommt ein dürrer Wind über dem Gebirge her, als aus der Wüste, des Weges zu der Tochter meines Volks zu, nicht zu worfeln noch zu schwingen.
  (Zur selbigen Zeit becomes man this_one people and Yerusalem say: It kommt a dürrer wind above to_him Gebirge her, als out of the Wüste, the Weges to the Tochter meines peoples zu, not to worfeln still to schwingen.)

BRN At that time they shall say to this people and to Jerusalem, There is a spirit of error in the wilderness: the way of the daughter of my people is not to purity, nor to holiness.
