TSNTyndale Study Notes:

4:23-26 In Jeremiah’s vision, the Lord’s fierce anger took precedence over his creative love (10:10; 12:4; Isa 5:25; 24:19; Ezek 38:20; Zeph 1:3). He was undoing the order of creation (see Gen 1:2-3).

UTNuW Translation Notes:

(Occurrence 0) all the cities had been pulled down

(Some words not found in UHB: looked and=see/lo/see! the,fruitful_land the,desert and=all cities,its laid_in_ruins from=face/in_front_of YHWH from=face/in_front_of fierce anger,his )

Alternate translation: “all the cities had been destroyed” or “all the cities were a heap of ruins”

(Occurrence 0) before Yahweh, before the fury of his wrath

(Some words not found in UHB: looked and=see/lo/see! the,fruitful_land the,desert and=all cities,its laid_in_ruins from=face/in_front_of YHWH from=face/in_front_of fierce anger,his )

This indicates that all these things would happen because Yahweh was so angry with the people of Judah.
