Here, the word Therefore introduces an inference or conclusion based on what Jesus said that the Pharisees and scribes say. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use a word or phrase that introduces an inference or conclusion, or you could leave Therefore untranslated. Here, the phrase sons means male descendants. It does not mean that the scribes and Pharisees are the direct sons of the people who killed the prophets. In this case, the expression sons of also indicates that the sons are similar to their ancestors. If it would be helpful in your language, you could state the meaning plainly.
