This is still a very early look into the unfinished text of the Open English Translation of the Bible. Please double-check the text in advance before using in public.
4:1 Yeshua is tempted by the devil
4 [ref]Then Yeshua was taken by the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 As he’d been fasting for forty days (and nights), he was getting hungry, 3 and the tempter approached him and asked, “If you’re God’s son, command some of these stones to turn into buns.”
4 [ref]But Yeshua answered, “It’s written in the scriptures that it’s not just food that a person needs to live, but also all of God’s message.”
5 Then the devil took him to Jerusalem, and stood him on the highest point of the temple 6 [ref]and told him, “Throw yourself down if you’re God’s son, because it’s written in the scriptures that God will command his messengers to look after you and to carry you in their arms so that you won’t bash your foot on a rock.”
7 [ref]“But it’s also written,” Yeshua answered, “that you shouldn’t test God your master.”
8 Then the devil took him to a very high mountains and showed him all the countries of the world with all their splendour, 9 then told him, “I’ll give all of these to you if you get down and prostrate yourself to me.”
10 [ref]“Go away, Satan,” Yeshua replied, “because it’s written in the scriptures that you should worship God your master and should only serve him.”
11 Then the devil left him and God’s messengers came and looked after him.
12 And then the spirit sent him into the wilderness 13 where he was tested by Satan for forty days. He was out there with the wild animals, but messengers waited on him there.
4:1 Yeshua is tested by the devil
4 Then Yeshua, full of the holy spirit, returned from the Yordan region and was led into the wilderness by the spirit 2 where he was tested by the devil for forty days. He didn’t eat anything during that time, and was hungry at the end.
3 So the devil told him, “If you’re God’s son, just turn this stone into bread.”
4 [ref]“It’s been written,” Yeshua replied, “that people don’t live just on food.”
5 Then the devil brought him up to a high point and in just a moment of time, showed him the vista of all the kingdoms of the world, 6 and he said, “I’ll give you this entire domain and the status of these kingdoms because it’s been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want, 7 so just bow down in front of me and it’ll all be yours.”
8 [ref]“It’s been written,” Yeshua answered, “that we should only bow down to Yahweh our God and only serve him.”
9 Then the devil led him to Yerushalem and they stood on the highest part of the temple, where he told him, “If you’re God’s son, throw yourself down from here, 10 [ref]because it’s written that God will command his messengers to guard you 11 and they will carry you in their hands, so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.”
12 [ref]“It’s been written,” Yeshua responded, “that we shouldn’t test Yahweh our God.”
13 So after completing every temptation, the devil withdrew from him for a time.
Heb 2:18:
18 Because he also suffered when he was tempted to sin, he’s able to help others who’re tempted.
4:15:
15 because we don’t have a high priest who’s not able to sympathise with our weakness, but rather who’s been tempted just like we are yet he didn’t sin.
