ULT And he humbled you and caused you to hunger and fed you manna, which you had not known and your fathers had not known, so that he might make you know that man does not live upon bread alone, but upon everything coming out of the mouth of Yahweh the man lives.

UST So he caused you to have problems. He allowed you to become hungry. Then he gave you manna, food from heaven, food that you and your parents had never eaten before. He did that to teach you that people need food for their bodies, but they also need food for their spirits. This comes from paying attention to everything that Yahweh says.

This does not mean that Yahweh personally fed the Israelites like a mother would feed her infant. What Moses means is that Yahweh provided manna from heaven for the Israelites to eat, as Exodus 16 describes. You could include this information if it would be helpful for your readers. Alternate translation: “and gave you manna to eat”
