Mat 26:26–30

1Cor 11:23–25

22:14 The cups and the bread at dinner

(Mark 14:22-26, Mat. 26:26-30, 1 Cor. 11:23-25)

14When it was time to eat, Yeshua and his apprentices sat down together 15and he told them, “I’ve been really looking forward to eating this passover dinner with you all before my time of suffering begins, 16because I’m telling you that I certainly won’t eat it again until it’s fulfilled in God’s kingdom.

17Then when the wine cup was passed to him, he gave thanks and said, “Take this and share it among yourselves, 18because I’m telling you that after this, I won’t drink the product of the vines again until God’s kingdom comes.

19Then picking up some bread and giving thanks, he broke the bread apart and gave it to them saying, “This is my body which is being given for you all. Do this when you remember me. 20[ref]Similarly with the cup of wine that comes after they’ve eaten, he said, “This cup is the new agreement in my blood which will be poured out for you all.

21[ref]However, the one who will turn me in is sitting with me at the table. 22Now, humanity’s child has to endure what’s been previously designated, but on the other hand, it won’t end well for the man who turns him in.

22As the carried on eating, he took a bread roll, blessed God, broke the roll apart and gave a piece to them, saying, “Take this bread—it’s my body.

23Then he picked up a cup, gave thanks to God, and passed it around so they could each drink from it, 24[ref]saying, “This is the blood of my contract that will be poured out for many people. 25I can assure you that I won’t drink anything made from grapes until I drink new juice in God’s kingdom.

26And after they’d sung some songs, they left the town and went across to the Mount of Olives.

26:26 Yeshua shares the bread and the wine

(Mark 14:22-26, Luke 22:14-20, 1 Cor. 11:23-25)

26Then during the meal, Yeshua took some bread and blessed it, then he broke it into pieces and gave it to his apprentices, saying, “Take this and eat it—it’s my body.

27Then he took a cup of wine and after giving thanks, he shared it with them saying, “Everyone drink some, 28[ref]because this is my blood of the agreement which is about to be poured out for the forgiveness of the sins of many people. 29I can assure you all that I certainly won’t drink this passover wine again until I’m able to drink it together with you all in my father’s kingdom.

30Then they sang some songs before heading out of the city to the Mount of Olives.

23I’ve already passed on to all of you everything that I received from the master: that on the night when he was betrayed, he took a bread roll 24and after giving thanks, he broke off a piece and said, “This represents my body which will be broken for your sakes. Keep doing this in memory of me.” 25Similarly, after the dinner he took the cup and said, “This cup represents the new agreement which will be sealed by my blood. As often as you all celebrate, drink it in memory of me.”[ref]
