ULT And Herod, having seen Jesus, rejoiced greatly, for he had been desiring to see him for a long time, because he had heard about him, and he was hoping to see some sign happen by him.

23:8 Herod was delighted: He was curious about Jesus’ power as a miracle worker and religious teacher, just as he had been curious about John the Baptist (9:7, 9; Mark 6:20).
