6 [fn ] and _ Dārə yāvesh the _ Mede [fn ] [fn ] he _ receivedthe _ kingdom about _ a _ son_ ofyears sixty and _ two .
2 [fn ] it _ seemed_ goodbefore Dārə yāvesh and _ he _ appointedover the _ kingdom DOM _ the _ satraps one _ hundredand _ twenty who they _ will_ bein _ all the _ kingdom .
3 [fn ] and _ above more _ than _ themoverseers three whom Dāniyyʼēl was _ oneof _ them whom they _ will_ bethe _ satraps these giving to _ them the _ report and _ the _ king not he _ will_ besuffering _ injury4 [fn ] then Dāniyyʼēl this he _ wasdistinguishing _ himselfover the _ overseers and _ the _ satraps as _ to because that a _ spiritextraordinary was _ in_ him and _ the _ king was _ planningto _ appoint _ him over all _ ofthe _ kingdom .
5 [fn ] then the _ overseers and _ the _ satraps they _ wereseeking an _ occasionto _ find to/for _ Dāniyyʼēl from _ the _ side_ ofthe _ kingdomand _ all occasion and _ being _ deceitfullnot they _ were _ ableto _ find as _ to because that was _ trustworthyhe and _ all negligence and _ being _ deceitfullnot it _ was_ foundconcerning _ him .
6 [fn ] then the _ men these were _ sayingthat not we _ will_ findto/for _ Dāniyyʼēl this any _ ofoccasion except we _ have_ foundconcerning _ him in _ the _ law_ ofhis _ god7 [fn ] then the _ overseers and _ the _ satraps these they _ came_ as_ a_ crowdto Oh/the _ king and _ thus/so/as _ followsthey _ were _ sayingto _ him/it Oh _ Dārə yāveshOh/the _ king for _ ages live .
8 [fn ] they _ took_ counsel_ togetherall _ ofthe _ overseers_ ofthe _ kingdomthe _ prefects and _ the _ satraps the _ counsellors and _ the _ governors to _ establish the _ regulation_ ofOh/the _ king and _ to _ make _ stringenta _ prohibitionthat every _ of_ whohe _ will_ aska _ petitionfrom any _ ofgod and _ person until days thirty except from _ you(ms) Oh/the _ king he _ will_ be_ thrownto _ the _ den_ ofthe _ lions9 [fn ] now Oh/the _ king you _ will_ establishthe _ prohibition and _ you _ will_ signthe _ writing that not to _ change according _ to _ the_ law_ ofthe _ Mādayand _ the _ Pāraşns which not it _ will_ pass_ away10 [fn ] as _ to because this Oh/the _ king Dārə yāvesh he _ signedthe _ writing and _ the _ prohibition .
11 [fn ] and _ Dāniyyʼēl as _ that he _ knewthat it _ was_ signedthe _ writing he _ went_ into _ his/its _ house and _ windows were _ openedto _ him/it in _ his _ upper_ of_ room facing Yə rūshālam/(Jerusalem) and _ times three in _ the _ day he was _ kneelingon his _ of_ knees and _ was _ praying and _ was _ praising before his _ of_ god as _ to because that he _ wasdoing from the _ former_ time_ ofthis .
12 [fn ] then the _ men these they _ came_ as_ a_ crowdand _ they _ foundto/for _ Dāniyyʼēl asking and _ imploring _ favourbefore his _ of_ god .
13 [fn ] in _ then they _ approachedand _ they _ saidbefore Oh/the _ king concerning the _ prohibition_ ofOh/the _ king not a _ prohibitiondid _ you_ signthat every _ ofperson who he _ will_ askfrom any _ ofgod and _ person until days thirty except from _ you(ms) Oh/the _ king he _ will_ be_ thrownto _ the _ den_ ofthe _ lionsOh/the _ king was _ replyingand _ saying(ms) is _ certainthe _ matter according _ to _ the _ law_ ofthe _ Mādayand _ the _ Pāraşns which not it _ will_ pass_ away14 [fn ] in _ then they _ repliedand _ they _ saidbefore Oh/the _ king that Dāniyyʼēl who is _ one_ ofthe _ sons_ ofthe _ exileof Yə hūdāh/(Judah) not he _ has_ setto _ you [fn ] Oh/the _ king discretion and _ to the _ prohibition which you _ signedand _ times three in _ the _ day he _ is _ askinghis _ of_ petition .
15 [fn ] then Oh/the _ king as _ that the _ matter he _ heardexceedingly it _ was_ displeasingto _ him and _ concerning Dāniyyʼēl he _ setmind to _ deliver _ him and _ unto the _ goings_ in_ ofthe _ sunhe _ wasstriving to _ rescue _ him .
16 [fn ] in _ then the _ men these they _ came_ as_ a_ crowdto Oh/the _ king and _ they _ saidto _ the _ king know Oh/the _ king that the _ lawof _ the _ Māday and _ the _ Pāraşns that any _ ofprohibition _ ofand _ regulation which Oh/the _ king he _ will_ establishnot to _ change .
17 [fn ] in _ then Oh/the _ king he _ saidand _ they _ broughtto/for _ Dāniyyʼēl and _ they _ threw_ him to _ the _ den of the _ lions Oh/the _ king was _ replyingand _ saying(ms) to/for _ Dāniyyʼēl your _ of_ god whom you [fn ] are _ paying_ reverenceto _ him/it in _ (the) _ continuance he may _ he _ deliver_ you18 [fn ] and _ a _ stone_ it _ was_ broughtone and _ it _ was_ setover the _ mouth_ ofthe _ denand _ he _ sealed _ itOh/the _ king with _ his _ of_ signet-ring and _ with _ the _ signet-rings_ ofhis _ noblesthat not it _ will_ changeanything with _ Dāniyyʼēl .
19 [fn ] then Oh/the _ king he _ wentto _ his _ of_ palace and _ he _ passed_ the_ nightfasting and _ diversions not he _ brought_ inbefore _ him and _ his _ of_ sleep it _ fledon _ him .
20 [fn ] in _ then Oh/the _ king at _ (the) _ dawn he _ aroseat _ the _ daylight and _ in _ haste to _ the _ den of the _ lions he _ went21 [fn ] and _ just _ as _ he _ approachedto _ the _ den to/for _ Dāniyyʼēl with _ a _ voicepained he _ cried_ outOh/the _ king was _ replyingand _ saying(ms) to/for _ Dāniyyʼēl Oh _ Dāniyyʼēl the _ servant_ ofthe _ god (the) _ living your _ of_ god whom you [fn ] are _ paying_ reverenceto _ him/it in _ (the) _ continuance was _ he _ ableto _ deliver _ you from the _ lions .
22 [fn ] then Dāniyyʼēl with Oh/the _ king he _ spokeOh/the _ king for _ ages live .
23 [fn ] my _ of_ god he _ senthis _ of_ messenger and _ he _ closedthe _ mouth_ ofthe _ lionsand _ not they _ harmed _ meas _ to because that before _ him innocence it _ was_ foundto _ me and _ also before _ you [fn ] Oh/the _ king a _ hurtful_ actnot I _ have_ done24 [fn ] in _ then Oh/the _ king exceedingly it _ was_ goodto _ him and _ DOM _ Dāniyyʼēl he _ saidto _ take _ upfrom the _ den and _ Dāniyyʼēl _ he _ was_ taken_ upfrom the _ den and _ all hurt not it _ was_ foundon _ him that he _ had_ trustedin _ his _ of_ god .
25 [fn ] Oh/the _ king and _ he/it _ saidand _ they _ broughtthe _ men these who they _ had_ eatenhis _ of_ pieces of Dāniyyʼēl and _ to _ the _ den_ ofthe _ lionsthey _ threwthey their _ of_ sons and _ their _ of_ wives and _ not they _ reachedto _ the _ bottom_ ofthe _ denuntil that they _ assaulted(in) _ them the _ lions and _ all their _ of_ bones they _ shattered26 [fn ] in _ then Dārə yāvesh Oh/the _ king he _ wroteto/from _ all/each/any/every the _ peoples the _ nations and _ the _ languages which were _ dwelling[fn ] in _ all the _ earth your _ of_ peace may _ it_ increase27 [fn ] from before _ me a _ decreeit _ is_ madethat in _ all the _ dominion_ ofmy _ kingdomthey _ will_ betrembling [fn ] and _ fearing from before his _ of_ god of Dāniyyʼēl that he the _ god (the) _ living and _ he _ is _ enduringfor _ ages and _ his _ of_ kingdom is _ one_ whichnot it _ will_ be_ destroyedand _ his _ of_ dominion is _ tothe _ end .
28 [fn ] he _ is _ deliveringand _ he _ is _ rescuingand _ he _ is _ doingsigns and _ wonders in _ the _ heavens and _ on _ the _ earth _ whohe _ has_ deliveredto/for _ Dāniyyʼēl from the _ hand_ ofthe _ lions29 [fn ] and _ Dāniyyʼēl this he _ prosperedin _ the _ reign_ ofDārə yāvesh and _ in _ the _ reign_ ofKōresh/(Cyrus/Kōresh/(Coresh/Cyrus)) the _ Pāraşn [fn ] .
