5 [fn] then the_overseers and_the_satraps they _were seeking an _occasion to_find to/for_Dāniyy^ʼēl from_the _side _of the _kingdom and_all occasion and_being _deceitfull not they_were_able to_find as_to because that was_trustworthy he and_all negligence and_being _deceitfull not it _was _found concerning_him.

6 [fn] then the_men these were_saying that not we _will _find to/for_Dāniyy^ʼēl this any _of occasion except we _have _found concerning_him in_the _law _of his _god.

7 [fn] then the_overseers and_the_satraps these they _came _as _a _crowd to Oh/the_king and_thus/so/as _follows they_were_saying to_him/it Oh _Dārəyāvesh Oh/the_king for_ages live.

8 [fn] they _took _counsel _together all _of the _overseers _of the _kingdom the_prefects and_the_satraps the_counsellors and_the_governors to_establish the _regulation _of Oh/the_king and_to_make _stringent a _prohibition that every _of one_who he _will _ask a _petition from any _of god and_person until days thirty except from_you(ms) Oh/the_king he _will _be _thrown to_the _den _of the _lions.

9 [fn] now Oh/the_king you _will _establish the_prohibition and_you _will _sign the_writing that not to_change according_to _the _law _of the_Māday and_the_Pāraşns which not it _will _pass _away.

13 [fn] in_then they _approached and_they _said before Oh/the_king concerning the _prohibition _of Oh/the_king not a _prohibition did _you _sign that every _of person who he _will _ask from any _of god and_person until days thirty except from_you(ms) Oh/the_king he _will _be _thrown to_the _den _of the _lions Oh/the_king was_replying and_saying(ms) is_certain the_matter according_to_the_law _of the_Māday and_the_Pāraşns which not it _will _pass _away.

16 [fn] in_then the_men these they _came _as _a _crowd to Oh/the_king and_they _said to_the_king know Oh/the_king that the _law of_the_Māday and_the_Pāraşns that any _of prohibition _of and_regulation which Oh/the_king he _will _establish not to_change.

20 [fn] in_then Oh/the_king at_(the)_dawn he _arose at_the_daylight and_in_haste to_the_den of the_lions he _went.

21 [fn] and_just_as_he _approached to_the_den to/for_Dāniyy^ʼēl with_a _voice pained he _cried _out Oh/the_king was_replying and_saying(ms) to/for_Dāniyy^ʼēl Oh _Dāniyy^ʼēl the _servant _of the_god (the)_living god _of_your whom you[fn] are_paying _reverence to_him/it in_(the)_continuance was_he _able to_deliver_you from the_lions.

22 [fn] then Dāniyy^ʼēl with Oh/the_king he _spoke Oh/the_king for_ages live.

23 [fn] god _of_my he _sent messenger _of_his and_he _closed the _mouth _of the _lions and_not they_harmed _me as_to because that before_him innocence it _was _found to_me and_also before_you[fn] Oh/the_king a _hurtful _act not I _have _done.

25 [fn] Oh/the_king and_he/it _said and_they _brought the_men these who they _had _eaten pieces _of_his of Dāniyy^ʼēl and_to_the _den _of the _lions they _threw they sons _of_their and_wives _of_their and_not they _reached to_the _bottom _of the _den until that they _assaulted (in)_them the_lions and_all bones _of_their they _shattered.

26 [fn] in_then Dārəyāvesh Oh/the_king he _wrote to/from_all/each/any/every the_peoples the_nations and_the_languages which were_dwelling[fn] in_all the_earth peace _of_your(pl) may _it _increase.

27 [fn] from before_me a _decree it _is _made that in_all the _dominion _of my _kingdom they _will _be trembling[fn] and_fearing from before god _of_his of Dāniyy^ʼēl that he the_god (the)_living and_he_is_enduring for_ages and_kingdom _of_his is _one_which not it _will _be _destroyed and_dominion _of_his is_to the_end.

28 [fn] he_is_delivering and_he_is_rescuing and_he_is_doing signs and_wonders in_the_heavens and_on_the_earth one_who he _has _delivered to/for_Dāniyy^ʼēl from the _hand _of the _lions.

29 [fn] and_Dāniyy^ʼēl this he _prospered in_the _reign _of Dārəyāvesh and_in_the _reign _of Kōresh/(Cyrus/Kōresh/(Coresh/Cyrus)) the_Pāraşn[fn].
