5Bēləshaʼʦʦr Oh/the_king he_made a_feast great for_his_of_nobles a_thousand and_(to)_before the_thousand (the)_wine he_was_drinking.
2Bēləshaʼʦʦr he_said in_the_taste_of the_wine to_bring DOM_the_vessels_of (the)_gold and_(the)_silver which he_had_brought_out Nəⱱūkadneʦʦar his_of_father from the_temple which was_in_Yərūshelēm/(Jerusalem) so_that_they_may_drink with_them Oh/the_king and_his_of_nobles his_of_wives and_his_of_concubines.
3In_then they_brought the_vessels_of (the)_gold which they_had_brought_out from the_temple which was_the_house_of the_god which was_in_Yərūshelēm/(Jerusalem) and_they_drank with_them Oh/the_king and_his_of_nobles his_of_wives and_his_of_concubines.
4They_drank the_wine and_they_praised DOM_the_gods_of (the)_gold and_(the)_silver (the)_bronze (the)_iron (the)_wood and_(the)_stone.
5At_it the_moment they_went_forth[fn] fingers of a_hand_of a_human and_they_were_writing (to)_before the_candlestick on the_plaster of the_wall_of the_palace of Oh/the_king and_the_king was_seeing the_palm_of the_hand which was_writing.
6Then Oh/the_king his_of_brightness(es) they_changed_him and_his_of_thoughts[fn] they_alarmed_him and_the_joints_of his_loin[s] were_untie/releaseed and_his_of_knees this_one to_this_one were_knocking.
7Oh/the_king was_calling with_power to_bring_in DOM_the_conjurers the_Kasdaye[fn] and_the_astrologers Oh/the_king was_replying and_saying(ms) to_wisemen of_Bāⱱel that any_of person who he_will_read_aloud the_writing this and_its_interpretation he_will_declare_to_me (the)_purple he_will_be_clothed and_(the)_necklace[fn][fn] of (the)_gold will_be_on his_of_neck and_third in_the_kingdom he_will_rule.
8then were_going_in[fn] all_of the_wise_men_of Oh/the_king and_not they_were_able the_writing to_read_aloud and_its_interpretation[fn] to_make_known to_the_king.
9Then Oh/the_king Bēləshaʼʦʦr exceedingly was_alarmed and_his_of_brightness(es) were_changing on_him and_his_of_nobles were_dumbfounded.
10The_queen (to)_before the_words/messages_of Oh/the_king and_his_of_nobles to_the_house_of the_feast she_went_in[fn] the_queen she_replied and_she_said Oh/the_king for_ages live not let_them_alarm_you your(ms)_thoughts and_your(pl)_of_brightness(es) not let_them_be_changed.
11There is_a_man in_your_of_kingdom who a_spirit_of gods holy is_in_him and_in_the_days_of your_father illumination and_insight and_wisdom like_the_wisdom_of gods it_was_found in_him and_the_king Nəⱱūkadneʦʦar your_of_father chief_of the_magicians conjurers ones_from_Kasdiy astrologers he_appointed_him your_of_father Oh/the_king.
12As_to because that a_spirit extraordinary and_understanding and_insight an_interpreter_of dreams and_declaring riddles and_untie/releaseing_of knots it_was_found in_him in_Dāniyyʼēl whom Oh/the_king he_made his/its_name Bēləţəshaʼʦʦar now Dāniyyʼēl let_him_be_summoned and_the_interpretation he_will_declare.
13in_then Dāniyyʼēl he_was_brought before Oh/the_king Oh/the_king was_replying and_saying(ms) to/for_Dāniyyʼēl you[fn] he are_Dāniyyʼēl who is_one_of the_sons_of the_exile of Yəhūdāh/(Judah) whom he_brought Oh/the_king my_of_father from Yəhūdāh.
14And_I_have_heard concerning_you[fn] that a_spirit_of gods on/over_you(fs) and_illumination and_insight and_wisdom extraordinary it_was_found on/over_you(fs).
15And_now they_have_been_brought before_me the_wise_men the_conjurers that the_writing this they_will_read_aloud and_its_interpretation to_make_know_me and_not they_were_able the_interpretation_of the_matter to_reply.
16And_I I_have_heard concerning_you[fn] that you_are_able[fn][fn] interpretations to_interpret and_knots to_untie/release now if you_will_be_able[fn] the_writing to_read_aloud and_its_interpretation to_make_know_me (the)_purple you_will_be_clothed and_(the)_necklace[fn][fn] of (the)_gold will_be_on your_of_neck and_third in_the_kingdom you_will_rule.
17in_then Dāniyyʼēl was_replying and_saying(ms) before Oh/the_king your(pl)_of_gifts to/for_you(fs) let_them_be and_your(pl)_of_rewards to_another give nevertheless the_writing I_will_read_aloud to_the_king and_the_interpretation I_will_make_known_to_him.
18You[fn] Oh/the_king the_god (the)_Most_High[fn] the_kingdom and_the_greatness and_the_honour and_the_majesty he_gave to_Nəⱱūkadneʦʦar your_of_father.
19And_from the_greatness which he_gave to_him/it all_of the_peoples the_nations and_the_languages they_were trembling[fn] and_fearing from before_him whom he_was pleased he_was killing and_whom he_was pleased he_was letting_live and_whom he_was pleased he_was lifting_up and_whom he_was pleased he_was bringing_low.
20And_as_that it_rose_up his_of_heart and_his_of_spirit it_grew_strong to_act_presumptuously he_was_deposed from the_throne_of his_kingdom and_the_honour they_removed from_him.
21And_from the_sons_of (the)_humankind he_was_chased and_his_of_heart with the_animal[s] they_made[fn][fn] and_was_with the_wild_donkeys his_dwelling_of_place (the)_grass like_oxen they_fed_him and_from_the_dew_of the_heavens his_of_body it_became_wet until that he_knew that was_having_mastery the_god (the)_Most_High[fn] over_the_kingdom_of (the)_humankind and_to_whomever whom he_will_be_pleased he_will_appoint over_it[fn].
22And_you[fn] his_of_son Oh_Bēləshaʼʦʦr not you_have_brought_low your_of_heart as_to because that all_of this you_knew.
23And_against the_master_of the_heavens you_have_lifted_yourself_up and_DOM_the_vessels of his_of_house they_have_brought before_you[fn] and_you[fn] and_your(pl)_of_nobles[fn][fn] your(pl)_of_wives and_your(pl)_of_concubines (the)_wine are_drinking with_them and_DOM_the_gods_of (the)_silver and_(the)_gold (the)_bronze (the)_iron (the)_wood and_(the)_stone who not are_seeing and_not are_hearing and_not are_knowing you_have_praised and_DOM_the_god who your_of_breath is_in_his_of_hand and_all your(pl)_of_ways to_him/it not you_have_glorified.
24In_then from before_him it_was_sent_out[fn] the_palm of the_hand and_the_writing this it_was_inscribed.
25And_this is_the_writing which it_was_inscribed mene mene teqel and_pharsin.
26This is_the_interpretation_of the_matter mene he_has_numbered the_god your_of_kingdom and_he_has_finished_it.
27Teqel you_have_been_weighed in_the_scales and_you_have_been_found lacking.
28Peres it_has_been_broken_in_two your_of_kingdom and_it_has_been_given to_Māday and_Pāraşns.
29In_then Bēləshaʼʦʦr he_said and_they_clothed to/for_Dāniyyʼēl (the)_purple and_(the)_necklace[fn] of (the)_gold was_on his_of_neck and_they_made_proclamation concerning_him that he_will_be a_ruler third in_the_kingdom.
30On_it on_the_night Bēləshaʼʦʦr he_was_killed Oh/the_king the_Kasdaye[fn].
