2 And_ every_of _he/it_ascended (the)_man_of Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) from_after Dāvid after Sheⱱaˊ the_son_of Bicri and_the_man_of Yəhūdāh they_clung to_king_of_their from the_Yardēn/(Jordan) and_unto Yərūshālam/(Jerusalem).
3 And_ Dāvid _he_came to house_of_his Yərūshālam/(Jerusalem) and_he/it_took the_king DOM the_ten women concubines whom he_had_left to_guard/protect the_house and_he_put_them a_house_of confinement and_he_sustained_them and_into_them not he_went and_they_were locked_up until the_day_of died_they widowhood_of living.

5 And_ ˊAmāsāʼ _he/it_went to_summon DOM Yəhūdāh and_he_was_delayed[fn] from the_appointed_time which he_had_appointed_for_him.
6 and_ Dāvid _he/it_said to ʼAⱱīshay now he_will_be_bad to/for_us Sheⱱaˊ the_son_of Bicri more_than ʼAⱱīshālōm you take DOM the_servants_of your(pl)_master(s)_of_your and_pursue after_him lest he_has_found to_him/it cities fortified and_he_will_tear_out eye_of_our.
7 And_they_went_out after_him the_men_of Yōʼāⱱ/(Joab) and_the_Kerethite[s] and_the_Pelethite[s] and_all the_powerful/mighty(pl) and_they_went_out from_Yərūshālam/(Jerusalem) to_pursue after Sheⱱaˊ the_son_of Bicri.
8 They were_near the_stone (the)_great which is_in_Giⱱˊōn and_ˊAmāsāʼ he_came before_them and_Yōʼāⱱ was_girded garment_of_his clothing_of_his and_over_it[fn] a_belt_of a_sword was_fastened on loins_of_his in_sheath_of_its and_he he_went_forward and_it_fell.
9 and_ Yōʼāⱱ _he/it_said to_ˊAmāsāʼ peace are_you my_brother/kindred and_ the_hand_of _it_took_hold of_the_right_side_of of_Yōʼāⱱ on_the_beard_of ˊAmāsāʼ to_kiss to_him/it.
10 And_ˊAmāsāʼ not he_took_heed to_sword which was_in_the_hand_of Yōʼāⱱ and_he_struck_him with_it into the_belly bowels_of_his and_he_poured_out towards_land and_not he_repeated to_him/it and_he/it_died and_Yōʼāⱱ and_ʼAⱱīshay his/its_brother he_pursued after Sheⱱaˊ the_son_of Bicri.
11 And_a_man he_stood on/upon/above_him/it one_of_the_young_men_of Yōʼāⱱ and_he/it_said who is_the_one_who he_delights in_Yōʼāⱱ/(Joab) and_who is_the_one_who belongs_to_Dāvid after Yōʼāⱱ.
12 And_ˊAmāsāʼ was_rolling in_blood in_the_middle of_the_highway[fn] and_he/it_saw the_man if/because_that all_of it_stopped the_people and_he_brought_round DOM ˊAmāsāʼ from the_highway the_field and_he_threw on/upon/above_him/it a_garment just_as he_saw every_of (the)_one_who_came on/upon/above_him/it and_he_stopped.
13 Just_as he_had_removed_him from the_highway every_of he_passed_on person after Yōʼāⱱ to_pursue after Sheⱱaˊ the_son_of Bicri.
14 And_he_passed in_all the_tribes_of Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) to_ʼĀⱱēl and_Bēyt- maˊₐkāh and_all the_Berites and[fn] and_they_came also after_him.
15 And_they_came and_they_laid_siege on/upon/above_him/it in_of house_of maˊₐkāh and_they_poured_out a_mound against the_city and_it_stood by_rampart and_all the_people which was_with Yōʼāⱱ were_about_to_destroy to_make_fall the_wall.
16 And_ a_woman _she/it_called/named wise from the_city listen listen say please to Yōʼāⱱ/(Joab) draw_near to here so_that_I_may_speak to_you.
17 And_he_drew_near to_her/it and_she/it_said the_woman are_you Yōʼāⱱ and_he/it_said I_am and_she/it_said to_him/it listen_to the_words/messages_of your(ms)_female_slave and_he/it_said am_listening I.
18 And_she/it_said to_say surely_(speak) they_spoke at_time to_say really_(ask) they_will_ask at_ʼĀⱱēl and_thus/so/as_follows they_ceased.
19 I am_the_peaceful_ones_of the_faithful_ones_of Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) you are_seeking to_kill a_city and_a_mother in_Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) to/for_what will_you_swallow_up the_inheritance_of YHWH.
20 and_ Yōʼāⱱ _he_answered and_he_said far_be_it far_be_it to_me if I_will_swallow_up and_if I_will_destroy.
21 is_not so the_matter if/because a_man from_hill of_ʼEfrayim who_is_Sheⱱaˊ the_son_of Bicri his/its_name he_has_lifted_up his/its_hand against_king against_Dāvid give DOM_him/it for_him/it_being_alone and_I_will_go from_under the_city and_she/it_said the_woman to Yōʼāⱱ HERE his/its_head is_about_to_be_thrown to_you behind the_wall.
22 And_she_went the_woman to all_of the_people with_wisdom_of_her and_they_cut_off DOM the_head_of Sheⱱaˊ the_son_of Bicri and_they_threw_it to Yōʼāⱱ/(Joab) and_he_gave_a_blast on_trumpet and_they_were_scattered from_under the_city each to_tents_of_his and_Yōʼāⱱ he_returned Yərūshālam/(Jerusalem) to the_king.
23 and_Yōʼāⱱ was_to all_of the_army of_Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) and_Bənāyāh the_son_of Yəhōyādāˊ/(Jehoiada) was_over the_Kerethite[s][fn] and_over the_Pelethite[s].
24 And_ʼAdorām was_over the_forced_labour and_Yəhōshāfāţ/(Jehoshaphat) the_son_of ʼAḩīlūd was_the_recorder.
25 And_Shəvāʼ[fn] was_secretary and_Tsādōq/(Zadok) and_ʼEⱱyātār were_priests.
26 And_also ˊĪrāʼ the_Jairite he_was a_priest of_Dāvid.
