3 And _ it _ becamethe _ war long between the _ house_ ofShāʼūl and _ between the _ house_ ofDāvid and _ Dāvid [was] _ goingand _ stronger _ and_ strongerand _ house _ ofShāʼūl [were] _ goingand _ weaker _ and_ weaker2 and _ born [fn ] [fn ] to _ Dāvid sons in/on/at/with _ Ḩeⱱrōn and _ he/it _ wasfirstborn _ of_ his ʼAmnōn by _ ʼAḩīnoˊam the _ Yizrə ˊʼēl /(Jezreel) .

4 And _ the _ fourth ʼAdoniyyāh the _ son_ ofḨaggit and _ the _ fifth Shə faţyāh the _ son_ ofʼAⱱīţal .
5 And _ the _ sixth Yitrə ˊām/(Ithream) by _ ˊEglāh the _ wife_ ofDāvid these they _ were_ bornto _ Dāvid in/on/at/with _ Ḩeⱱrōn .
6 and _ he/it _ wasin/on/at/with _ there _ wasthe _ war between the _ house_ ofShāʼūl and _ between the _ house_ ofDāvid and _ ʼAⱱnēr he _ wasstrengthening _ himselfin _ house _ ofShāʼūl .
7 And _ had _ Shāʼūl a _ concubineand _ name _ of_ whose [was] _ Riʦfāhthe _ daughter_ ofʼAyyāh and _ he/it _ saidto ʼAⱱnēr why have _ you_ goneinto the _ concubine_ offather’s _ of_ my .
8 And _ it _ glowed/burnedto _ ʼAⱱnēr exceedingly on the _ words_ ofIsh- bshet and _ he/it _ saidhead _ ofa _ dog[am] _ Iwhich for _ Yə hūdāh/(Judah) the _ day I _ showloyalty with the _ house_ ofShāʼūl I _ will_ show_ you(ms) to brothers _ of_ his and _ near/to friends _ of_ his and _ not given _ you in/on/at/with _ hands _ ofDāvid and _ charge of _ me the _ guilt_ ofthe _ woman the _ day .
9 Thus god may _ he_ doto _ ʼAⱱnēr and _ so may _ he_ addto _ him/it if/because just _ as he _ sworeYHWH to _ Dāvid if/because so I _ will_ dofor _ him/it .
10 To _ transfer the _ kingdom from _ house _ ofShāʼūl and _ to _ establish DOM the _ throne_ ofDāvid over Yisrāʼēl /(Israel) and _ over Yə hūdāh from _ Dān and _ unto Bə ʼēr Sheⱱaˊ .
11 And _ not he _ was_ ableagain to _ answer DOM ʼAⱱnēr a _ wordbecause _ feared _ he DOM _ him/it .
12 and _ ʼAⱱnēr _ sent messengers to Dāvid on _ behalf_ his [fn ] to _ say to _ belong_ whom [the] _ landto _ say make covenant _ of_ your with _ me and _ see/lo/see hand _ of_ my with _ you to _ bring _ overto _ you DOM all _ ofYisrāʼēl /(Israel) .
13 And _ he/it _ saidgood I I _ will_ makewith _ you a _ covenantonly a _ thingone I [am] _ askingfrom _ with _ you to _ say not you _ will_ seeDOM face _ of_ my if/because (if) to _ (the) _ face_ of/in_ front_ of/beforebring _ you DOM Mīkāl the _ daughter_ ofShāʼūl in/on/at/with _ come _ you to _ see DOM face _ of_ me .
14 and _ Dāvid _ sent messengers to Ish- bshet the _ son_ ofShāʼūl to _ say give DOM wife _ of_ my DOM Mīkāl whom I _ betrothedto _ me in/on/at/with _ a _ hundredforeskins _ ofFə lishtiy .
15 And _ Ish- _ sent bshet and _ took _ her from _ with a _ husbandfrom _ with Falţīʼēl /(Paltiel) the _ son_ ofLayish [fn ] .
16 And _ he/it _ wentwith _ her her/its _ husband/man going and _ weeping behind _ her to Baḩurīm and _ he/it _ saidto _ him/it ʼAⱱnēr go return and _ went _ back17 And _ conferred _ ofʼAⱱnēr it _ waswith the _ elders_ ofYisrāʼēl /(Israel) to _ say both yesterday as _ well_ as[the] _ third_ dayyou _ all_ wereseeking DOM Dāvid as _ king over _ you _ all18 And _ now act if/because YHWH he _ has_ spokento Dāvid to _ say in/on/at/with _ hand _ ofDāvid servant _ of_ my to _ deliverDOM people _ of_ my Yisrāʼēl /(Israel) from _ hand _ of[the] _ Fə lishtiyand _ from _ hand _ ofall _ ofenemies _ of_ their .
19 And _ he/it _ spokealso ʼAⱱnēr in/on/at/with _ hearing _ ofBinyāmīn and _ he/it _ wentalso ʼAⱱnēr to _ tell in/on/at/with _ hearing _ ofDāvid in/on/at/with _ Ḩeⱱrōn DOM all _ ofthat [was] _ goodin/on _ both _ eyes_ ofYisrāʼēl /(Israel) and _ in/on/at/with _ eyes _ ofall _ ofthe _ house_ ofBinyāmīn .
20 And _ ʼAⱱnēr _ came to Dāvid Ḩeⱱrōn and _ with _ him twenty men and _ Dāvid _ he/it _ madefor _ ʼAⱱnēr and _ for _ men who with _ him/it a _ feast21 And _ ʼAⱱnēr _ he/it _ saidto Dāvid let _ me_ ariseand _ go and _ gather to my _ master the _ king DOM all _ ofYisrāʼēl /(Israel) and _ make with _ you a _ covenantand _ reign in/on/at/with _ all that it _ desiresheart _ of_ your and _ Dāvid _ dismissed DOM ʼAⱱnēr and _ he/it _ wentin/on/at/with _ peace .
22 And _ see/lo/see the _ servants_ ofDāvid and _ Yōʼāⱱ/(Joab) [was] _ comingfrom _ the _ raid and _ spoil much with _ them they _ had_ broughtand _ ʼAⱱnēr not _ he [was] _ withDāvid in/on/at/with _ Ḩeⱱrōn if/because dismissed _ him and _ he/it _ wentin/on/at/with _ peace .
23 And _ Yōʼāⱱ and _ all the _ army which with _ him/it they _ cameand _ told to _ Yōʼāⱱ to _ say he _ cameʼAⱱnēr the _ son_ ofNēr to the _ king and _ he/it _ sent_ out/away_ him/it and _ he/it _ wentin/on/at/with _ peace .
24 And _ Yōʼāⱱ _ went to the _ king and _ he/it _ saidwhat have _ you_ donehere he _ cameʼAⱱnēr to _ you to/for _ what this dismiss _ him and _ he/it _ wentcompletely _ (go)25 You _ knowDOM ʼAⱱnēr the _ son_ ofNēr if/because _ thatto _ deceive _ you he _ cameand _ to _ learn DOM going _ out_ of_ your and _ DOM coming _ in_ of_ your [fn ] and _ to _ find _ outDOM all _ ofthat you [are] _ doing26 And _ Yōʼāⱱ _ he/it _ went_ outfrom _ with Dāvid and _ sent messengers after ʼAⱱnēr and _ brought _ backDOM _ him/it from _ well _ ofSirah and _ Dāvid not he _ knew27 And _ ʼAⱱnēr _ returned Ḩeⱱrōn and _ took _ aside_ him Yōʼāⱱ into the _ middle_ ofthe _ gate to _ speak with _ him/it in/on/at/with _ private and _ stabbed _ him there the _ stomach and _ he/it _ diedin/on/at/with _ blood _ ofAsah- el his/its _ woman .
28 And _ Dāvid _ he/it _ listenedfrom _ afterwards thus and _ he/it _ said[am] _ innocentI and _ kingdom _ of_ my from _ before YHWH until perpetuity concerning _ blood _ ofʼAⱱnēr the _ son_ ofNēr .
29 Let _ them_ whirlover the _ head_ ofYōʼāⱱ/(Joab) and _ near/to all _ ofthe _ house_ ofhis/its _ father and _ never let _ him_ be_ cut_ offfrom _ house _ ofYōʼāⱱ [one _ who]_ suffers_ a_ dischargeand _ leprosy and _ holds in/on/at/with _ spindle and _ falls in/on/at/with _ sword and _ lacks _ ofbread .
30 And _ Yōʼāⱱ and _ ʼAⱱīshay his/its _ woman they _ killedto _ ʼAⱱnēr on that he _ had_ killedDOM ˊAsāhʼēl brother _ of_ their in/on/at/with _ Giⱱˊōn in/on/at/with _ battle .
31 and _ Dāvid _ he/it _ saidto Yōʼāⱱ and _ near/to all _ ofthe _ people which with _ him/it tear clothes _ of_ your _ all’sand _ put _ onsackcloth(s) and _ mourn to _ (the) _ face_ of/in_ front_ of/beforeʼAⱱnēr and _ the _ king Dāvid [was] _ walkingafter the _ bier .
32 And _ buried DOM ʼAⱱnēr in/on/at/with _ Ḩeⱱrōn and _ lifted _ up[fn ] the _ king DOM voice _ of_ his and _ wept to the _ grave_ ofʼAⱱnēr and _ all _ of_ wept the _ people .
33 and _ lamented the _ king concerning ʼAⱱnēr and _ said the _ as _ dies _ ofa _ foolwill _ he_ dieʼAⱱnēr .
34 Hands _ of_ your not [were] _ boundand _ feet _ of_ your not in _ bronze _ shacklesthey _ were_ brought_ nearas _ falls to _ (the) _ face_ of/in_ front_ of/beforesons _ ofinjustice you _ have_ fallenand _ all _ of_ again the _ people to _ wept on/upon/above _ him/it .
35 And _ all _ of_ came the _ people to _ persuade _ toeatDOM Dāvid bread in/on/at/with _ still the _ day and _ Dāvid _ swore to _ say thus may _ he_ doto/for _ me god and _ so may _ he_ addif/because if to _ (the) _ face_ of/in_ front_ of/beforegoes the _ sun I _ will_ tastebread or all _ ofanything .
36 And _ all the _ people they _ paid_ regardand _ pleased in/on/at/with _ eyes _ of_ them just _ as_ everything that he _ didthe _ king in/on _ both _ eyes_ ofall _ ofthe _ people it _ was_ good37 And _ all _ of_ they _ knewthe _ people and _ all Yisrāʼēl /(Israel) in _ the_ day (the) _ that if/because _ thatnot it _ wasof _ the _ king to _ killing DOM ʼAⱱnēr the _ son_ ofNēr .
38 and _ he/it _ saidthe _ king to servants _ of_ his am _ not do _ you_ all_ knowif/because _ thata _ leaderand _ great he _ has_ fallenthe _ day the _ this in/on/at/with _ Yisrāʼēl /(Israel) .
39 And _ I the _ day [am] _ weakand _ king _ anointed and _ the _ men the _ these the _ sons_ ofTsə rūyāh /(Zeruiah) [are _ too]_ hardtoo _ for_ me YHWH may _ he_ repayfor _ does _ ofthe _ wickedly according _ to_ wickedness _ of_ his .
