18 And _ mustered Dāvid DOM the _ men which with _ him/it and _ he/it _ assigned over _ them commanders of _ thousands and _ commanders of _ hundreds .
2 And _ sent _ out Dāvid DOM the _ troops the _ a _ third in/on/at/with _ command of _ Joab and _ the _ a _ third in/on/at/with _ command of _ Abishai the _ son of _ Zeruiah the _ brother of _ Joab and _ the _ one _ third in/on/at/with _ command of _ Ittai the _ Gittite and _ he/it _ said the _ king to the _ troops certainly _ (go_ out) I _ will_ go_ out also I with _ you _ all .
3 And _ he/it _ said the _ men not you _ must_ go_ out DOM if actually _ (flee) we _ will_ flee not they _ will_ set about _ us heart and _ if they _ will_ die half _ us not they _ will_ set about _ us heart DOM now of _ us ten thousand(s) and _ now [is] _ good (cmp) you _ will_ be to/for _ ourselves from _ city to _ help [fn ] .
4 and _ he/it _ said to _ them the _ king [that] _ which it _ will_ be_ good in/on/at/with _ eyes _ of_ you _ all I _ will_ do and _ stood the _ king to the _ side the _ gate and _ all the _ troops they _ went_ out by _ hundreds and _ by _ thousands .
5 And _ he/it _ commanded the _ king DOM Joab and _ DOM Abishai and _ DOM Ittai to _ say for _ gently to _ me with _ the_ young _ man with _ Absalom and _ all the _ people they _ heard in/on/at/with _ gave _ orders the _ king DOM all the _ commanders on the _ matter of _ Absalom .
6 And _ he/it _ went_ out the _ army the _ field to _ against Yisrāʼēl /(Israel) and _ it _ became the _ battle in/on/at/with _ forest of _ ʼEfrayim .
7 And _ defeated there the _ people of _ Yisrāʼēl /(Israel) to _ (the) _ face_ of/in_ front_ of/before the _ servants of _ Dāvid and _ it _ became there the _ slaughter great in _ the_ day (the) _ that twenty thousand .
8 And _ it _ became there the _ battle scattered [fn ] [fn ] over the _ surface of _ all the _ earth/land and _ more the _ forest to _ devoured in/on/at/with _ people than _ what it _ consumed the _ drought//sword/knife in _ the_ day (the) _ that .
9 And _ happened _ to_ meet Absalom to _ (the) _ face_ of/in_ front_ of/before the _ servants of _ Dāvid and _ Absalom [was] _ riding on the _ mule and _ went the _ mule under the _ branche[s] the _ oak the _ great and _ caught _ fast his/its _ head in/on/at/with _ tree and _ left _ hanging between the _ heavens and _ between the _ earth/land and _ the _ mule which under _ him it _ passed_ on .
10 And _ he/it _ saw a _ man one and _ told to _ Joab and _ he/it _ said there I _ saw DOM Absalom hung _ up in/on/at/with _ oak _ tree .
11 And _ he/it _ said Joab to _ the_ man the _ told to _ him/it and _ see/lo/see you _ saw and _ why not strike _ him there ground _ to and _ upon _ I to _ give to/for _ yourself(m) ten silver and _ belt one .
12 And _ he/it _ said the _ man to Joab and _ if [fn ] [fn ] I [was] _ weighing on hand _ my a _ thousand silver not I _ will_ stretch_ out hand _ my against the _ son the _ king DOM in/on/at/with _ hearing _ our he _ commanded the _ king DOM _ you and _ DOM Abishai and _ DOM Ittai to _ say protect whoever in/on/at/with _ young _ man in/on/at/with _ Absalom .
13 Or I _ had_ done in/on/at/with _ life _ my _ own[fn ] falsehood and _ all thing not it _ is_ hidden from the _ king and _ you(ms) you _ will_ stand from _ before .
14 And _ he/it _ said Joab not thus I _ will_ wait to _ your _ face and _ he/it _ took three spears in/on/at/with _ hand _ his and _ thrust _ them in/on/at/with _ heart of _ Absalom while _ he [was] _ alive in/on/at/with _ midst the _ oak _ tree .
15 And _ surrounded ten young _ men the _ bearers of _ the_ armor(s) of _ Joab and _ struck DOM Absalom and _ killed _ him .
16 And _ blew Joab in/on/at/with _ trumpet and _ returned the _ troops from _ pursuing after Yisrāʼēl /(Israel) DOM he _ restrained Joab DOM the _ troops .
17 And _ they _ took DOM Absalom and _ threw DOM _ him/it in/on/at/with _ forest into the _ pit the _ large and _ raised on/upon/above _ him/it a _ heap of _ stones great very and _ all Yisrāʼēl /(Israel) they _ fled each to _ tent _ his [fn ] .
18 and _ Absalom he _ had_ taken and _ set _ up to _ him/it in/on/at/with _ lifetime _ his [fn ] DOM a _ pillar which in/on/at/with _ valley the _ king DOM he _ said there _ [belongs]_ not to _ me a _ son in _ account _ of to _ cause_ to_ be_ remembered name _ my and _ he/it _ called to _ the_ pillar on his/its _ name and _ called to/for _ her/it the _ monument of _ Absalom until the _ day the _ this .
19 and _ Ahimaaz the _ son of _ Tsādōq he _ said let _ me_ run please and _ carry _ tidings DOM the _ king DOM _ that delivered _ him Yahweh from _ hand enemies _ his .
20 And _ he/it _ said to _ him/it Joab not [are] _ a_ man of _ news you the _ day the _ this and _ carry _ news in/on _ day another and _ the _ day the _ this not you _ will_ bear_ the_ news DOM for [fn ] [fn ] the _ son the _ king he _ has_ died .
21 And _ he/it _ said Joab to _ the_ Ⱪūshiyte go tell to/for _ the _ king [that] _ which you _ have_ seen and _ bowed [the] _ Ⱪūshiyte to _ Joab and _ ran .
22 And _ he _ repeated again Ahimaaz the _ son of _ Tsādōq and _ he/it _ said to Joab and _ let _ it_ be whatever let _ me_ run please also I after the _ Ⱪūshiyte and _ he/it _ said Joab to/for _ what this [are] _ you running son _ my and _ have _ you there _ [will]_ not_ [be] news [which _ will]_ find .
23 And _ let _ it_ be whatever I _ will_ run and _ he/it _ said to _ him/it run and _ ran Ahimaaz the _ way the _ plain and _ outran DOM the _ Ⱪūshiyte .
24 And _ Dāvid [was] _ sitting between the _ two the _ gates and _ he/it _ went the _ watchman to the _ roof the _ gate to the _ wall and _ lifted _ up DOM eyes _ his and _ he/it _ saw and _ see/lo/see a _ man [was] _ running for _ him/it _ being _ alone .
25 And _ he/it _ called the _ watchman and _ told to/for _ the _ king and _ he/it _ said the _ king if for _ him/it _ being _ alone news in/on/at/with _ mouth _ his and _ he/it _ went coming and _ closer .
26 And _ he/it _ saw the _ watchman a _ man another running and _ he/it _ called the _ sentinel to the _ gatekeeper and _ he/it _ said there a _ man [is] _ running for _ him/it _ being _ alone and _ he/it _ said the _ king also this _ one [is] _ bearing_ news .
27 And _ he/it _ said the _ watchman I [am] _ seeing DOM the _ running the _ first like _ running of _ Ahimaaz the _ son of _ Tsādōq and _ he/it _ said the _ king [is] _ a_ man good this and _ near/to news good he _ is_ coming .
28 And _ he/it _ called Ahimaaz and _ he/it _ said to the _ king peace and _ bowed _ down to/for _ the _ king with _ face _ his ground _ to and _ he/it _ said [be] _ blessed Yahweh god _ your who he _ has_ delivered_ up DOM the _ men who they _ lifted_ up DOM hand _ their in/on/at/with _ master _ my the _ king .
29 And _ he/it _ said the _ king [does] _ peace with _ the_ young _ man to _ Absalom and _ he/it _ said Ahimaaz I _ saw the _ tumult the _ great to _ sent DOM the _ servant the _ king Joab and _ DOM servant _ your and _ not I _ know whatever .
30 And _ he/it _ said the _ king go _ around stand thus and _ turned _ aside and _ stood _ still .
31 And _ see/lo/see the _ Ⱪūshiyte [was] _ coming and _ he/it _ said the _ Ⱪūshiyte let _ him_ receive_ the_ news my _ master the _ king DOM vindicated _ you Yahweh the _ day from _ power of _ all the _ rose _ up against _ you .
32 and _ he/it _ said the _ king to the _ Ⱪūshiyte well with _ the_ young _ man to _ Absalom and _ he/it _ said the _ Ⱪūshiyte let _ them_ be like _ that_ young _ man the _ enemies my _ master the _ king and _ all/each/any/every [those] _ who they _ have_ risen_ up against _ you to _ harm .
