18 And _ Dāvid _ mustered DOM the _ men which with _ him/it and _ he/it _ assignedover _ them commanders _ ofthousands and _ commanders _ ofhundreds .
2 And _ Dāvid _ sent _ outDOM the _ troops the _ a _ thirdin/on/at/with _ command _ ofYōʼāⱱ and _ the _ a _ thirdin/on/at/with _ command _ ofʼAⱱīshay the _ son_ ofTsə rūyāh the _ brother_ ofYōʼāⱱ/(Joab) and _ the _ one _ thirdin/on/at/with _ command _ ofʼIttay the _ Gittiy and _ he/it _ saidthe _ king to the _ troops certainly _ (go_ out)I _ will_ go_ outalso I with _ you _ all3 And _ he/it _ saidthe _ men not you _ must_ go_ outif/because if actually _ (flee)we _ will_ fleenot they _ will_ setabout _ us heart and _ if they _ will_ diehalf _ of_ us not they _ will_ setabout _ us heart if/because now of _ us ten thousand(s) and _ now [is] _ good(cmp) you _ will_ beto/for _ ourselves from _ city to _ help [fn ] .
4 and _ he/it _ saidto _ them the _ king [that] _ whichit _ will_ be_ goodin/on/at/with _ eyes _ of_ you _ allI _ will_ doand _ stood the _ king to the _ side_ ofthe _ gate and _ all the _ troops they _ went_ outby _ hundreds and _ by _ thousands .
5 And _ he/it _ commandedthe _ king DOM Yōʼāⱱ and _ DOM ʼAⱱīshay and _ DOM ʼIttay to _ say for _ gently to _ me with _ the_ young _ manwith _ ʼAⱱīshālōm and _ all the _ people they _ heardin/on/at/with _ gave _ ordersthe _ king DOM all _ ofthe _ commanders on the _ matter_ ofʼAⱱīshālōm .
6 And _ he/it _ went_ outthe _ army the _ field to _ Yisrāʼēl /(Israel) _ against and _ it _ becamethe _ battle in/on/at/with _ forest _ ofʼEfrayim .
7 And _ defeated there the _ people_ ofYisrāʼēl /(Israel) to _ (the) _ face_ of/in_ front_ of/beforethe _ servants_ ofDāvid and _ it _ becamethere the _ slaughter great in _ the_ day (the) _ that twenty thousand .
8 And _ it _ becamethere the _ battle scattered [fn ] [fn ] over the _ surface_ ofall _ ofthe _ earth/land and _ more the _ forest to _ devoured in/on/at/with _ people than _ what it _ consumedthe _ drought//sword/knife in _ the_ day (the) _ that .
9 And _ ʼAⱱīshālōm _ happened _ to_ meetto _ (the) _ face_ of/in_ front_ of/beforethe _ servants_ ofDāvid and _ ʼAⱱīshālōm [was] _ ridingon the _ mule and _ went the _ mule under the _ branche[s]_ ofthe _ oak the _ great his/its _ head and _ caught _ fastin/on/at/with _ tree and _ left _ hangingbetween the _ heavens and _ between the _ earth/land and _ the _ mule which under _ him it _ passed_ on10 And _ a _ man_ he/it _ sawone and _ told to _ Yōʼāⱱ/(Joab) and _ he/it _ saidthere I _ sawDOM ʼAⱱīshālōm hung _ upin/on/at/with _ oak _ tree11 And _ Yōʼāⱱ _ he/it _ saidto _ the_ man the _ told to _ him/it and _ see/lo/see you _ sawand _ why not strike _ him there ground _ to and _ upon _ I to _ give to/for _ yourself(m) ten silver and _ belt one .
12 And _ he/it _ saidthe _ man to Yōʼāⱱ and _ if [fn ] [fn ] I [was] _ weighingon hand _ of_ my a _ thousandsilver not I _ will_ stretch_ outhand _ of_ my against the _ son_ ofthe _ king if/because in/on/at/with _ hearing _ of_ our he _ commandedthe _ king DOM _ you and _ DOM ʼAⱱīshay and _ DOM ʼIttay to _ say protect whoever in/on/at/with _ young _ manin/on/at/with _ ʼAⱱīshālōm .
13 Or I _ had_ donein/on/at/with _ life _ of_ my _ own[fn ] falsehood and _ all thing not it _ is_ hiddenfrom the _ king and _ you(ms) you _ will_ standfrom _ before .
14 And _ Yōʼāⱱ _ he/it _ saidnot thus I _ will_ waitto _ your _ face and _ he/it _ tookthree spears in/on/at/with _ hand _ of_ his and _ thrust _ them in/on/at/with _ heart _ ofʼAⱱīshālōm while _ he [was] _ alivein/on/at/with _ midst _ ofthe _ oak _ tree15 And _ surrounded ten young _ menof _ the_ armor(s)_ ofthe _ bearers_ ofYōʼāⱱ/(Joab) and _ struck DOM ʼAⱱīshālōm and _ killed _ him .
16 And _ Yōʼāⱱ _ blew in/on/at/with _ trumpet and _ returned the _ troops from _ pursuing after Yisrāʼēl /(Israel) if/because Yōʼāⱱ he _ restrainedDOM the _ troops .
17 And _ they _ tookDOM ʼAⱱīshālōm and _ threw DOM _ him/it in/on/at/with _ forest into the _ pit the _ large and _ raised on/upon/above _ him/it a _ heap_ ofstones great very and _ all Yisrāʼēl /(Israel) they _ fledeach to _ tent _ of_ his [fn ] .
18 and _ ʼAⱱīshālōm he _ had_ takenand _ set _ upto _ him/it in/on/at/with _ lifetime _ of_ his [fn ] DOM a _ pillarwhich in/on/at/with _ valley _ ofthe _ king if/because he _ saidthere _ [belongs]_ notto _ me a _ sonin _ account _ ofto _ cause_ to_ be_ rememberedname _ of_ my and _ he/it _ calledto _ the_ pillar on his/its _ name and _ called to/for _ her/it the _ monument_ ofʼAⱱīshālōm until the _ day the _ this .
19 and _ ʼAḩīmaˊaʦ the _ son_ ofTsādōq/(Zadok) he _ saidlet _ me_ runplease and _ carry _ tidingsDOM the _ king if/because _ thatdelivered _ him YHWH from _ hand _ ofenemies _ of_ his .
20 And _ he/it _ saidto _ him/it Yōʼāⱱ not [are] _ a_ man_ ofnews you the _ day the _ this and _ carry _ newsin/on _ day another and _ the _ day the _ this not you _ will_ bear_ the_ newsif/because for [fn ] [fn ] the _ son_ ofthe _ king he _ has_ died21 And _ Yōʼāⱱ/(Joab) _ he/it _ saidto _ the_ Kūshiy/(Cushi)te go tell to/for _ the _ king[that] _ whichyou _ have_ seenand _ [the] _ Kūshiyte_ bowed to _ Yōʼāⱱ and _ ran .
22 And _ he _ repeatedagain ʼAḩīmaˊaʦ the _ son_ ofTsādōq and _ he/it _ saidto Yōʼāⱱ and _ let _ it_ bewhatever let _ me_ runplease also I after the _ Kūshiyte and _ Yōʼāⱱ _ he/it _ saidto/for _ what this [are] _ yourunning son _ of_ my and _ have _ you there _ [will]_ not_ [be]news [which _ will]_ find23 And _ let _ it_ bewhatever I _ will_ runand _ he/it _ saidto _ him/it run and _ ʼAḩīmaˊaʦ _ ran the _ way_ ofthe _ plain and _ outran DOM the _ Kūshiyte .
24 And _ Dāvid [was] _ sittingbetween the _ two_ ofthe _ gates and _ he/it _ wentthe _ watchman to the _ roofthe _ gate to the _ wall and _ lifted _ upDOM eyes _ of_ his and _ he/it _ sawand _ see/lo/see a _ man[was] _ runningfor _ him/it _ being _ alone25 And _ he/it _ calledthe _ watchman and _ told to/for _ the _ kingand _ he/it _ saidthe _ king if for _ him/it _ being _ alonenews in/on/at/with _ mouth _ of_ his and _ he/it _ wentcoming and _ closer .
26 And _ he/it _ sawthe _ a _ man_ watchman another running and _ he/it _ calledthe _ sentinel to the _ gatekeeper and _ he/it _ saidthere a _ man[is] _ runningfor _ him/it _ being _ aloneand _ he/it _ saidthe _ king also this _ one[is] _ bearing_ news27 And _ he/it _ saidthe _ watchman I [am] _ seeingDOM the _ running_ ofthe _ first like _ running _ ofʼAḩīmaˊaʦ the _ son_ ofTsādōq/(Zadok) and _ he/it _ saidthe _ king [is] _ a_ mangood this and _ near/to news good he _ is_ coming28 And _ ʼAḩīmaˊaʦ _ he/it _ calledand _ he/it _ saidto the _ king peace and _ bowed _ downto/for _ the _ kingwith _ face _ of_ his ground _ to and _ he/it _ saidYHWH [be] _ blessedgod _ of_ your who he _ has_ delivered_ upDOM the _ men who they _ lifted_ upDOM hand _ of_ their in/on/at/with _ master _ of_ my the _ king .
29 And _ he/it _ saidthe _ king [does] _ peacewith _ the_ young _ manto _ ʼAⱱīshālōm and _ ʼAḩīmaˊaʦ _ he/it _ saidI _ sawthe _ tumult the _ great to _ sent DOM the _ servant_ ofthe _ king Yōʼāⱱ/(Joab) and _ DOM servant _ of_ your and _ not I _ knowwhatever .
30 And _ he/it _ saidthe _ king go _ aroundstand thus and _ turned _ asideand _ stood _ still31 And _ see/lo/see the _ Kūshiy/(Cushi)te [was] _ comingand _ he/it _ saidthe _ Kūshiyte my _ master let _ him_ receive_ the_ newsthe _ king if/because vindicated _ you YHWH the _ day from _ power _ ofall _ ofthe _ rose _ upagainst _ you .
32 and _ he/it _ saidthe _ king to the _ Kūshiyte well with _ the_ young _ manto _ ʼAⱱīshālōm and _ he/it _ saidthe _ Kūshiyte let _ them_ belike _ that_ young _ manthe _ enemies_ ofmy _ master the _ king and _ all/each/any/every [those] _ whothey _ have_ risen_ upagainst _ you to _ harm .
