12:1 The priests and Levites

12 These are the priests and the Levites who came back with Shealtiyel’s son Zerubavel and with Yeshua:

Serayah, Yermeyah, and Ezra,
2 Amaryah, Malluk, and Hattush,
3 Shekanyah, Rehum, and Meremot,
4 Iddo, Ginneton, and Aviyyah,
5 Miyyamin, Moadyah, and Bilgah,
6 Shemayah, Yoyariv, and Yedayah,
7 Sallu, Amok, Hilkiyyah, and another Yedayah.

Those were the leaders of the priests and their brothers in Yeshua’s time.

8 The Levites were:

Yeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Shereveyah, Yehudah, and Mattanyah who led the thanksgiving songs along with his brothers,
9 Bakbukyah and Unni—their brothers who stood opposite them in the services.

12:10 The high priest Yeshua’s descendants

10 Yeshua fathered Yoyakim who then fathered Elyashiv, and Elyashiv fathered Yoyada. 11 Then Yoyada fathered Yonatan who then fathered Yaddua.

12:12 Leaders of priestly families

12 In Yoyakim’s time, these were the heads of the priestly families:

Merayah was the head of Serayah’s family,
Hananyah for Yirmeyah’s,
13 Meshullam for Ezra’s family,
Yehohanan for Amaryah’s,
14 Yonatan for Malluk’s family,
Yosef for Shevanyah’s,
15 Adna for Harim’s family,
Helkai for Merayot’s,
16 Zekaryah for Iddo’s family,
Meshullam for Ginneton’s,
17 Zikri for Aviyyah’s family,
Filtai for Moadyah’s,
18 Shammua for Bilgah’s family,
Yonatan for Shemayah’s,
19 Mattenai for Yoyariv’s family,
Uzzi for Yedayah’s,
20 Kallai for Sallai’s family,
Ever for Amok’s,
21 Hashavyah for Hilkiyyah’s family,
and Netan’el for Yedayah’s.

12:22 The records of priests and Levites

22 In the days of Elyashiv, Yoyada, Yohanan, and Yaddua, during the reign of Persian King Darius, the heads of the families of the Levites and priests were recorded. 23 The names of the descendants of Levi who were heads of families were written in the official history records up till the time of Elyashiv’s son Yohanan.

12:24 Various helper roles in the temple

24 The Levites’ leaders were Hashavyah, Shereveyah, and Kadmiel’s son Yeshua with their brothers serving opposite them in each service to praise and give thanks as had been commanded by David, the man of God.

25 Mattanyah, Bakbukyah, Ovadyah, Meshullam, Talmon, and Akkuv were gatekeepers who stood guard at the storerooms near the temple gates.

26 That was at the time of Yoyakim (son of Yeshua, son of Yotsadak), and at the time of Nehemyah the governor and Ezra the priest and scribe.

30 And_purified the_priests and_the_Lēviyyiy and_purified DOM the_people and_DOM the_gates and the_wall.
31 And_brought _up DOM the _leaders _of Yəhūdāh/(Judah) from_under of _the_wall and_appointed two _of thanksgiving _choirs large and_went _in _procession to _the_right from_under of _the_wall to_gate _of the_dung.
32 And_he/it _went after_them Hoshaiah and_half _of the _leaders _of Yəhūdāh.
33 And_ˊAzar^yāh ˊEzrāʼ and_Məshullām.
34 Yəhūdāh and_Binyāmīn and_Shəmaˊ^yāh and_Yirmə^yāh/(Jeremiah).
35 and_some _of_sons _of the_priests in/on/at/with_trumpets Zəkar^yāh the _son _of Yōnātān/(Jonathan) the _son _of Shəmaˊ^yāh the _son _of Mattan^yāh the _son _of Mīkā^yāh the _son _of Zakkūr the _son _of ʼĀşāf.
36 And_relatives _of_his Shəmaˊ^yāh and_ˊAzar^ʼēl Milₐlay Gilₐlay Māˊay Nətan^ʼēl and_Yihudah Ḩₐnānī in/on/at/with_instruments _of (the)_song _of Dāvid the _man _of the_ʼElohīm and_ˊEzrāʼ the_scribe in_front _of_them.
37 And_at the _gate _of the_fountain and_in _front _of_them they _went _up on the _steps _of the _city _of Dāvid in/on/at/with_ascent of _the_wall from_under at_house _of Dāvid and_unto the _gate _of the_waters east.
38 And_the_choir the_second(fs) the_went to_left and_I followed_them and_half _of the_people from_under of_the_wall from_under to_tower _of the_ovens and_unto the_wall the_broad.
39 And_to_over to_gate _of ʼEfrayim and_by Old gate and_by the _gate _of the_fish and_tower _of Ḩₐnan^ʼēl and_tower _of the_Hundred and_unto the _gate _of the_sheep[fn][fn] and_stopped in/on/at/with_gate _of the_guard.
40 And_stood the _two _of the_choirs in_house _of the_ʼElohīm and_I and_half _of the_officials with_me.
41 And_the_priests ʼElyāqīm Maˊₐsē^yāh Minyāmīn Mīkā^yāh ʼElyəhōˊēynay Zəkar^yāh Ḩₐnan^yāh in/on/at/with_trumpets.
42 And_Maˊₐsē^yāh and_Shəmaˊ^yāh and_ʼElˊāzār and_ˊUzziy and_Yəhōḩānān/(Jehohanan) and_Malkīy^yāh and_ˊĒylām and_ˊĒzer and_sang the_singers and_Yizraḩ^yāh/(Jezrahiah) the_leader.
43 And_offered in/on/at/with_day (the)_that sacrifices great and_rejoiced if/because the_ʼElohīm made _rejoice_them joy great and_also the_women and_the_youths they _rejoiced and_ the _rejoicing _of _heard of _Yərūshālam/(Jerusalem) at_far.

44 And_appointed in/on/at/with_day (the)_that men over the_rooms for _the_stores for _the_contributions for _the_first _fruits and_for _the_tithes to_gather (is)_in_them from_fields _of the_towns the _portions _of the_law for _the_priests and_for _the_Lēviyyiy if/because the _joy _of Yəhūdāh/(Judah) [was]_on the_priests and_with the_Lēviyyiy the_ministered.
