6:7 Yeshua sends his apprentices out in pairs
7 Then he called his twelve apprentices and started sending them out in pairs and giving them authority over demons. 8 He insisted that they can carry a walking stick but not to take food, a backpack, or money. 9 They could wear one pair of sandals, but not take changes of clothes. 10 And he told them, “Whenever you are invited into a home, stay at that one place until you leave that town. 11 [ref]But if any places don’t want you or don’t want to hear what you have to say, just leave that place. As you go, shake the dust off your sandals so they can see that you pass the responsibility of what happened to them.”
12 So the apprentices went off and started telling people to repent. 13 [ref]And they drove out many demons, and anointed many sick people with olive oil and healed them.
10:5 Yeshua sends out the twelve
5 Yeshua sent out these twelve, instructing them, “Don’t go onto the roads of non-Jews or into the city of Samaria, 6 but rather go to the lost sheep who a descendants of Israel. 7 As you go, announce to the people that the kingdom of the heavens is close. 8 Heal those who need it, bring the dead back to life, get rid of leprosy, and drive evil spirits away. You all freely received, so give freely. 9 Don’t accept any money for your wallets, 10 [ref]and don’t take a backpack, or a change of clothes or footwear, or a staff, because a worker deserves to be fed.
11 “Whatever city or village you arrive at, look around to discover who is godly, and stay with them until you all leave. 12 When you enter a home, bless it, 13 and if the house is worthy of it, let your peace come onto it, but if not, let your peace return to you. 14 [ref]If there’s any that don’t accept you or don’t want to hear your messages, shake the dust off your feet as you leave that house or city as a sign that you all accept no responsibility for them. 15 [ref]I can assure you that it will be more tolerable for the towns of Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgement that it will be for those places.
9:1 Yeshua sends out his twelve apprentices
9 Then Yeshua called together his twelve trainees and gave them power and authority over all the demons and to heal diseases, 2 and then sent them out to preach about God’s kingdom and to heal those who were sick. 3 “Don’t take anything for the journey,” he told them. “Don’t take a walking stick or a backpack or food or money or spare clothes. 4 When someone invites you into their home, stay in that one house until you leave that place, 5 [ref]but when the people don’t want to hear from you, shake the dust off your feet as a testimony to them that God will punish them for not receiving his messengers.”
6 So they headed off, preaching the good message and healing the people as they walked from village to village.
