91:0 God our protector
91 Anyone who stays where they’re sheltered by the highest one,
≈will be able to rest safely in the powerful one’s shadow.
2 I will tell people that Yahweh is my safe place and my fortress,
≈my God that I’ll put my trust in.
3 He will keep you safe from the hunter’s traps,
≈and from deadly diseases.
4 He’ll cover you with his wings,
and you’ll feel safe underneath them.
His faithfulness is a shield and protection.
5 You won’t be afraid of the terror of the night,
≈or of a flying arrow hitting you in the day.
6 You won’t be afraid of the forces that roam around in the darkness,
≈or of the destruction that causes devastation at noon time.
7 A thousand warriors might fall dead at your side,
≈and ten thousand at your right hand,
yet you still won’t be reached by the enemy.
8 Just look with your own eyes,
and you’ll see the wicked people being punished.
9 Yes, Yahweh is my safe place.
Make every effort to stay with the highest one.
10 Then nothing will be able to harm you.
≈No evil will approach your home
11 because he’ll command his messengers about you—[ref]
to guard you wherever you’re going.
12 They’ll lift you up in their hands,[ref]
so that you won’t hit your foot on a rock.
13 You’ll beat back the lion and the cobra with your feet.[ref]
≈You’ll trample on the young lion and the snake.
14 I’ll rescue those who’re devoted to me.
≈I’ll protect them because they know my name.
15 When anyone calls out to me, I’ll answer them,
I’ll be with them in times of trouble.
16 I’ll satisfy them with a long life,
and I’ll show them how I can save them.
Mat 4:6:
6 [ref]and told him, “Throw yourself down if you’re God’s son, because it’s written in the scriptures that God will command his messengers to look after you and to carry you in their arms so that you won’t bash your foot on a rock.”
Luk 4:10:
10 [ref]because it’s written that God will command his messengers to guard you
Luk 4:11:
11 and they will carry you in their hands, so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.”
Luk 10:19:
19 [ref]Listen, I’ve given you all the authority to tread on snakes and scorpions and to overcome the enemy’s power, and nothing at all will be able to injure you.
