Mat 28:16–20

Mark 16:14–18

Luke 24:36–49

20:19 Yeshua appears to his followers

(Mat. 28:16-20, Mark 16:14-18, Luke 24:36-49)

19On Sunday evening Yeshua’s trainees had met together and had the doors locked because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders, but Yeshua arrived and stood in the middle of the room and said, “Peace to you all.” 20Then he showed them his hands and his side and they were so happy now that they had seen the master. 21Yeshua continued, “Peace to you all. Now I am sending you all out just like the father sent me out. 22Then he breathed on them and said, “Receive the holy spirit. 23[ref]If you forgive anyone’s sins, then they’ll be forgiven but if you withhold forgiveness, then it will be withheld.

20:23: Mat 16:19; 18:18.

28:16 Yeshua commissions his apprentices as missionaries

(Mark 16:14-18, Luke 24:36-49, Yhn 20:19-23, Acts 1:6-8)

16[ref]The eleven apprentices travelled up to Galilee to the hill that Yeshua had previously told them to go to, 17and when they saw him there, they immediately bowed down to the ground, even though their minds weren’t sure that it was really him. 18Then Yeshua came closer and told them, “I have been given authority over both heavenly and earthly affairs 19[ref]so I want you to leave here and go and train followers in every country, immersing them in water with the authority of the father and the son and the holy spirit. 20Then teach them to do everything just like I instructed all of you. And listen, I will be with you all every day right through until the end of this age.

16:14Yeshua appears to his trainees and instructs them

(Yhn 20:19-23, Mat. 28:16-20, Luke 24:36-49, Acts 1:6-8)

14Later again when the eleven trainees were sitting around eating, Yeshua appeared in the room and scolded them for not believing and for being so stubborn when they hadn’t believed others who had told them that he’d come back from the dead. 15Then he instructed them, “Travel around all the world[ref] and tell the good message to everyone. 16Anyone who believes and gets immersed in water will be saved, however, those who refuse to believe will be condemned to death. 17Those who believe will be able to do miracles: they’ll be able to use my authority to command demons to leave and to speak new languages, 18and they’ll be able to pick up snakes. If they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them, and they will place their hands on people and make them better.

24:36 The showing of Yeshua of followers din

(Yhn 20:19-23, Mark 16:14-18, Mat. 28:16-20, Acts 1:6-8)

36As they were still talking about these things, Yeshua himself suddenly was there standing in the room and greeted them, “Peace to you all.

37However, they got a fright, and then were terrified thinking that it was a spirit. 38Then he spoke to them again, “Why are you all upset, and why are you thinking such stuff? 39Look at my hands and feet and you’ll see that it’s me. Touch me and look, because spirits don’t have solid bodies like you can see that I have.

40Then he showed them his hands and his feet. 41Some of them, still not believing, had a mixture of happiness and doubt, and he asked them, “Have you got anything here to eat? 42They handed him a piece of broiled fish, 43and he took it and ate it in front of them.

44Then he told them, “While I was still with you all, I told you those messages of mine, and how that everything written about me by Mosheh and the prophets and in the songs, it’s all going to be fulfilled. 45Then he opened their minds to be able to understand the scriptures, and he told them, 46It was written that the messiah would suffer and to come back to life on the third day, 47and that his name will be proclaimed as the authority to forgive the sins of the people when they repentpeople from every country beginning here in Yerushalem. 48You all are witnesses of all that. 49[ref]Soon I’ll be sending out the one that my father promised to you all, but meanwhile you must remain here in the city until you all get clothed in power that comes from heaven.
