Psalmes 105

P S A L. CIV.

1 A meditation vpon the mighty power, 7 and wonderfull prouidence of God. 31 Gods glory is eternall. 33 The Prophet voweth perpetually to praise God.

CV¶ Blesse the LORD, O my soule, O LORD my God, thou art very great: thou art clothed with honour and maiestie. 2Who couerest thy selfe with light, as with a garment: who stretchest out the heauens like a curtaine. 3Who layeth the beames of his chambers in the waters, who maketh the cloudes his charet: who walketh vpon the wings of the wind. 4[ref]Who maketh his Angels spirits: his ministers a flaming fire. 5[fn]Who laid the foundations of the earth: that it should not be remoued for euer. 6Thou coueredst it with the deepe as with a garment: the waters stood aboue the mountaines. 7At thy rebuke they fled: at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away. 8[fn]They go vp by the mountaines: they goe downe by the valleys vnto the place which thou hast founded for them. 9Thou hast set a bound that they may not passe ouer: that they turne not againe to couer the earth. 10[fn][fn]He sendeth the springs into the valleys: which runne among the hilles. 11[fn]They giue drinke to euery beast of the field: the wild asses quench their thirst. 12[fn]By them shall the foules of the heauen haue their habitation: which sing among the branches. 13He watereth the hilles from his chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy workes. 14[ref]He causeth the grasse to grow for the cattell, and herbe for the seruice of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth: 15[fn]And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oile to make his face to shine: and bread which strengtheneth mans heart. 16The trees of the LORD are full of sappe: the cedars of Lebanon which he hath planted. 17Where the birds make their nests: as for the Storke, the firre trees are her house. 18The hie hilles are a refuge for the wilde goates: and the rockes for the conies. 19He appointed the moone for seasons; the sunne knoweth his going downe. 20[fn]Thou makest darknesse, and it is night: wherein all the beasts of the forrest doe creepe forth. 21The young lyons roare after their pray: and seeke their meate from God. 22The sunne ariseth, they gather themselues together: and lay them downe in their dennes. 23Man goeth forth vnto his worke: and to his labour, vntill the euening. 24O LORD, how manifold are thy workes! in wisedome hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches. 25So is this great and wide Sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable: both small and great beasts. 26[fn]There goe the shippes; there is that Leuiathan, whom thou hast made to play therein. 27[ref]These waite all vpon thee: that thou mayest giue them their meate in due season. 28That thou giuest them, they gather: thou openest thine hand, they are filled with good. 29Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled, thou takest away their breath, they die: and returne to their dust. 30Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth. 31[fn]The glory of the LORD shall endure for euer: the LORD shall reioyce in his workes. 32Hee looketh on the earth, and it trembleth; he toucheth the hilles, and they smoke. 33I will sing vnto the LORD as long as I liue: I will sing praise to my God, while I haue my being. 34My meditation of him shalbe sweete: I will be glad in the LORD. 35Let the sinners be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked bee no more: blesse thou the LORD, O my soule. Praise yee the LORD.

P S A L. CV.

1 An exhortation to praise God, and to seeke out his workes. 7 The story of Gods prouidence ouer Abraham, 16 Ouer Ioseph, 23 Ouer Iacob in Egypt, 26 Ouer Moses deliuering the Israelites, 37 Ouer the Israelites brought out of Egypt, fed in the wildernesse, and planted in Canaan.

CV[ref]O giue thankes vnto the LORD, call vpon his name: make knowen his deeds among the people. 2Sing vnto him; sing Psalmes vnto him: talke yee of all his wondrous workes. 3Glory yee in his holy name: let the heart of them reioyce, that seeke the LORD. 4Seeke the LORD, and his strength: seeke his face euermore. 5Remember his maruellous workes, that hee hath done: his wonders, and the iudgements of his mouth, 6O yee seede of Abraham his seruant: yee children of Iacob his chosen. 7He is the LORD our God: his iudgements are in all the earth. 8He hath remembred his couenant for euer: the word which he commanded to a thousand generations. 9[ref]Which couenant he made with Abraham, and his oath vnto Isaac: 10And confirmed the same vnto Iacob for a law: and to Israel for an euerlasting couenant: 11[ref][fn]Saying, Unto thee will I giue the land of Canaan: the lot of your inheritance. 12When they were but a few men in number: yea very few, & strangers in it. 13When they went from one nation to another: from one kingdome to another people. 14He suffred no man to doe them wrong: yea he reproued kings for their sakes: 15Saying, Touch not mine anointed; and doe my Prophets no harme. 16Moreouer hee called for a famine vpon the land: he brake the whole staffe of bread. 17[ref]Hee sent a man before them: euen Ioseph, who was sold for a seruant. 18[ref][fn]Whose feete they hurt with fetters: he was layd in iron. 19Untill the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him. 20[ref]The king sent and loosed him: euen the ruler of the people, and let him goe free. 21[ref][fn]Hee made him lord of his house: and ruler of all his substance: 22To binde his princes at his pleasure: and teach his Senatours wisedome. 23[ref]Israel also came into Egypt: and Iacob soiourned in the land of Ham. 24And hee increased his people greatly: and made them stronger then their enemies. 25[ref]He turned their heart to hate his people: to deale subtilly with his seruants. 26[ref]Hee sent Moses his seruant: and Aaron whom he had chosen. 27[ref][fn]They shewed his signes among them: and wonders in the land of Ham. 28[ref]Hee sent darknesse, and made it darke: and they rebelled not against his word. 29[ref]Hee turned their waters into blood: and slew their fish. 30[ref]The land brought foorth frogs in abundance: in the chambers of their kings. 31[ref]He spake, and there came diuers sorts of flies: and lice in all their coasts. 32[ref][fn]Hee gaue them haile for raine: and flaming fire in their laud. 33Hee smote their Uines also, and their figge trees: and brake the trees of their coastes. 34[ref]He spake, and the locusts came: and catterpillers, and that without number, 35And did eate vp all the herbes in their land: and deuoured the fruite of their ground. 36[ref]Hee smote also all the first borne in their land: the chiefe of all their strength. 37[ref]Hee brought them foorth also with siluer and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes. 38[ref]Egypt was glad when they departed: for the feare of them fell vpon them. 39[ref]He spread a cloud for a couering: and fire to giue light in the night. 40[ref]The people asked, and he brought quailes: and satisfied them with the bread of heauen. 41[ref]He opened the rocke, and the waters gushed out: they ranne in the dry places like a riuer. 42For he remembred his holy promise: and Abraham his seruant. 43[fn]And he brought forth his people with ioy: and his chosen with gladnesse: 44[ref]And gaue them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited the labour of the people: 45That they might obserue his statutes, and keepe his Lawes, Praise ye the LORD.
