104.44 Et dedit illis. AUG. Non ut propter ista eum colant, sed ut ea ad bonum æternum referant, id est, ut custodiant justificationes ejus. Possederunt, etc., non ut hæc habenda sint pro summo bono, sed ut eis vacent unde summum et æternum bonum possit acquiri, non ut in eis luxu defluant vel torpescant.

104.44 And he_gave to_them. AUG. Not/No as because these_(ones) him they_may_worship, but as them to good eternal they_may_report, that it_is, as they_guard justifications his/her. They_possessed, etc., not/no as these_things to_be_had let_them_be for top good, but as to_them they_may_be_free from_where/who the_highest and eternal good can to_be_acquired, not/no as in/into/on to_them luxury they_may_flow_down or they_may_become_numb.

These two phrases mean basically the same thing. The second emphasizes the meaning of the first by repeating the same idea with different words. Hebrew poetry was based on this kind of repetition, and you may want to show this to your readers by including both phrases in your translation. If it is helpful, you could connect the phrases in a way that shows that the second phrase is repeating the first one, not saying something additional. Alternate translation: [Then he gave to them the lands of the nations; yes, they took possession of the toil of the peoples]

The pronoun He refers to Yahweh. The pronoun them refers to the Israelites. It may be helpful to clarify this for your readers. Alternate translation: [Then Yahweh gave to the Israelites]
