16 And _ see/lo/see a _ man old was _ coming from work _ of_ his from the _ field in _ evening and _ the _ man from _ hill of _ ʼEfrayim and _ he was _ sojourning in _ Giⱱˊāh and _ the _ men_ of the _ place were _ Ben-_ of jaminites .
17 And _ he _ lifted_ up eyes _ of_ his and _ he/it _ saw DOM the _ man who _ was _ travelling in _ the _ open_ square_ of the _ city and _ he/it _ said the _ man [fn ] [fn ] (the) _ old where are _ you_ going and _ from _ where are _ you_ coming .
18 And _ he/it _ said to _ him/it are _ passing we from food/grain/bread Yə hūdāh/(Judah) to the _ remotest_ parts_ of the _ hill_ country_ of ʼEfrayim from _ there I and _ I _ went to Bēyt- leḩem Yə hūdāh and _ DOM the _ house_ of YHWH I am _ going and _ there _ was _ not anyone who _ was_ receiving me to _ the _ house .
19 And _ also straw as _ well_ as fodder there _ are for _ our _ of_ donkeys and _ also food and _ wine there _ are to _ me and _ for _ your _ of_ maidservant and _ for _ servant with your _ servants there _ is _ not lack _ of any _ of thing .
20 And _ he/it _ said the _ man (the) _ old peace to/for _ you(fs) certainly all _ of lack _ of_ your is _ on_ me only in _ square do _ not spend _ the_ night .
