TSNTyndale Study Notes:

UTNuW Translation Notes:

(Occurrence 0) look!

(Some words not found in UHB: that/for/because/then/when look,I raising_up DOM the=Kasdim the,nation the,bitter and,the,impetuous the,march through,breadth earth/land to,seize dwellings not to=him/it )

The word “look!” here alerts us to pay attention to the surprising information that follows.

(Occurrence 0) impetuous

(Some words not found in UHB: that/for/because/then/when look,I raising_up DOM the=Kasdim the,nation the,bitter and,the,impetuous the,march through,breadth earth/land to,seize dwellings not to=him/it )

This could mean: (1) “violent” or (2) “hasty.”

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / hyperbole

(Occurrence 0) the breadth of the land

(Some words not found in UHB: that/for/because/then/when look,I raising_up DOM the=Kasdim the,nation the,bitter and,the,impetuous the,march through,breadth earth/land to,seize dwellings not to=him/it )

This could mean: (1) everywhere in Judah or (2) everywhere in the world. This would be an exaggeration to emphasize how powerful the Chaldean army is.
