146 Praise Yah.

≈ I’ll praise Yahweh with my whole being.

2 I’ll praise Yahweh with my life.

≈ I’ll sing praises to my god as long as I live.

3 Don’t trust in politicians

≈ or in people—none of them can save you.

4 When their breath ceases, they return to the ground—

all their plans come to an end at that time.

5 Blessed are the people who have Yacob’s god to help them—

whose hope is in their God Yahweh:

6 He’s the one who made the heavens and earth, the sea, and all that is in them.

He’s the one who remains faithful forever.[ref]

7 He’s the one who executes justice for the oppressed.

He’s the one who gives food to the hungry.

Yahweh liberates the prisoners.

8 Yahweh opens the eyes of the blind.

Yahweh straightens up those who are bowed down under heavy loads.

Yahweh loves those who do what is right.

9 Yahweh guards the refugees.

He sustains orphans and widows,

but he subverts the plans of the wicked.

10 Yahweh reigns forever.

Tsiyyon (Zion), your god reigns throughout the generations.
