Readers’ Version

Literal Version

92:0 A praise song

92 An accompanied song for Rest Days.

92It’s good when people thank you, Yahweh,

and sing praises to you, the highest one

2to proclaim your loyal commitment in the morning,

and your truthfulness every night,

3using the ten-stringed instrument,

and the melody from a harp.

4Yes, you, Yahweh, have made me happy by your actions.

I will cheerfully sing because of what you’ve done.

5Yahweh, you do incredible things.

Your thoughts are extremely complex.

6A stupid person doesn’t know that,

and a fool can’t understand it.

7Wicked people sprout up like plants,

and wickedness flourishes.

They’re doomed to eternal destruction,

8but you, Yahweh, will always rule on high.

9Take note of your enemies, Yahweh,

because your enemies will perish.

All those who do evil will be forced to flee.

10You’ve made me as powerful as a wild bull.

I’ve been anointed with fresh oil.

11With my own eyes, I’ve looked at my enemies.

With my own ears, I’ve heard the opposition against me.

12A godly person flourishes like a palm tree.

That person will grow like a cedar tree in Lebanon.

13They’ll be planted in Yahweh’s house.

They’ll flourish in God’s courtyards.

14They’ll still bear fruit even when they’re old.

They’ll be fresh and vigorous.

15They’ll proclaim that Yahweh is an honest judge.

He’s reliable and can only ever do what is right.
