95 Come and join us in singing to Yahweh.

≈ Let’s happily sing to our protector and our rescuer.

2 Let’s thank him as we come in and face him.

≈ Let’s sing praise songs to him

3 because Yahweh is a powerful God,

≈ and a powerful king superior to all gods.

4 The deepest valleys in the earth are under his control,

≈ and the mountain peaks are also his.

5 The oceans are his because he created them.

≈ His hands formed all the dry land.

6 Come on, let’s bow down and worship him.

≈ Let’s kneel in front of our creator, Yahweh,

7 because he’s our god.

We are the people he shepherds.

≈ We are the sheep in his care.[ref]

If only all of you would listen to his voice today.

8 Don’t become stubborn like your ancestors did at Meribah,[ref]

≈ and like they did in the wilderness at Massah.

9 Your ancestors tried my patience

even though they’d seen me perform miracles.

10 I was angry with that generation and said,

‘These people are very happy to do their own thing.

They’re not really interested in following my instructions.’

11 So I got angry at them and made a decision

that they would never be allowed to enter the region where I would have given them peace.[ref]
