ἡ ἡμέρα τοῦ Κυρίου
the day ˱of˲_the Lord
Here, the day of the Lord refers to the time when Jesus will come back to the earth for all believers.
2:2 The Thessalonian Christians previously asked Paul when the day of the Lord would come (1 Thes 5:1-11). Now a false teaching that this day had already begun (cp. 2 Tim 2:18) was causing them to waver in faith and become frightened.
• a spiritual vision, a revelation, or a letter: The source of the teaching might have been a false prophecy (cp. 1 Jn 4:1-2), an erroneous sermon, or a letter falsely attributed to Paul.
OET (OET-LV) in_order that not quickly to_be_shaken you_all in the mind, nor to_be_being_alarmed, neither by spirit, nor by message, nor by letter, as_though by us, as that has_presented the day of_the master.
OET (OET-RV) to not be alarmed or have your thinking jolted back-and-forth by any ‘spirit’ or message or letter that seems to come from us that tries to say that the master has already returned.
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
