17 And having _ travelled_ through the Amfipolis and the Apollōnia , they _ came to Thessalonikaʸ , where was a _ synagogue of _ the Youdaiōns .
2 And according _ to the way having _ been_ accustomed the with _ Paulos , he _ came_ in to them , and for Three days _ of_ rest , he _ discussed with _ them from the scriptures , 3 opening _ up and setting _ before that it _ was_ fitting the chosen _ one/messiah to _ suffer , and to _ rise_ up from the _ dead , and saying that This Yaʸsous/(Yə hōshūˊa) , whom I am _ proclaiming to _ you_ all is .
chosen _ one/messiah .
4 And some of them were _ persuaded and they _ were_ joined the with _ Paulos and the Silas , both a _ great _ multitude of _ the Hellaʸns worshipping , and leading a _ few women the not .
5 But the Youdaiōns , having _ been_ jealous and having _ taken_ aside some evil men of _ the marketplaces , and having _ formed_ a_ mob , they _ were_ distressing the city , and having _ approached to _ the house of _ Yasōn , they _ were_ seeking them to _ bring_ forth to the public .
6 And not having _ found them , they _ were_ dragging Yasōn and some brothers before the city _ council shouting , that The having _ upset the inhabited _ world , these are _ coming here also , 7 whom Yasōn has _ welcomed , and these all are _ doing in _ front_ of the decrees of _ Kaisar , saying Yaʸsous another king to _ be .
8 And they _ disturbed the crowd and the city _ council hearing these .
9 And having _ taken the much from the Yasōn and the rest , they _ sent_ them _ away .
10 And the brothers immediately sent _ out the both Paulos and the Silas by night to Beroia , who having _ arrived , were _ going into the synagogue of _ the Youdaiōns .
11 And these were more _ noble than the in Thessalonikaʸ , who received the message with all readiness , in _ every day examining the scriptures , if these might _ be_ having thus .
12 therefore indeed Many from them believed , and not a _ few of _ the the prominent Hellaʸn women , and men .
13 But when the Youdaiōns from the Thessalonikaʸ knew that also the message of _ the _ god was _ proclaimed by the Paulos in , the Beroia , they _ came also _ there , agitating and disturbing the crowds .
14 And then the brothers immediately the Paulos sent _ away , to _ be_ going as _ far_ as to the sea , and the both Silas and the Timotheos remained there .
15 And the appointing the Paulos , brought him to Athaʸnai , and having _ received a _ command for the Silas and the Timotheos , that as they _ may_ come most _ quickly to him , they _ were_ departing .
16 And the Paulos in the Athaʸnai , of _ awaiting them , the spirit of _ him was _ being_ provoked in him , of _ observing the city being idolatrous .
17 Therefore he _ was_ discussing on _ one_ hand in the synagogue with _ the Youdaiōns , and the worshipping , and in the marketplace on every day with the happening _ to_ be .
18 On _ the_ other_ hand some also of _ the Epikoureios and Stōikos philosophers were _ conferring with _ him , and some were _ saying :
What wishfully might _ this - _ be_ wanting babbler to _ be_ saying ?
But the others :
He _ is_ supposing to _ be a _ proclaimer of _ strange demons , because he _ was_ good_ message_ preaching the Yaʸsous/(Yə hōshūˊa) and the resurrection .
19 and having _ taken_ hold of _ him , they _ brought him to the Areios Hill saying :
Are _ we_ being_ able to _ know what is the this new , teaching is which being _ spoken by you ?
20 For/Because you _ are_ carrying_ in some _ surprising _ messages to the ears of _ us .
Therefore we _ are_ wishing to _ know what _ all is _ wanting these to _ be .
21 (And all the _ _ from_ Athaʸnai and the visiting strangers were _ having_ opportunity in not _ one other , than to _ be_ telling something or to _ be_ hearing some newer .
) 22 And Paulos having _ been_ stood in the _ midst of _ the Areios Hill was _ saying :
Men , _ from_ Athaʸnai , I _ am_ perceiving in all how more _ superstitious you _ all .
23 For/Because passing _ through and observing the objects _ of_ worship of _ you_ all , I _ even _ found an _ altar on which had _ been_ inscribed :
To _ an _ unknown god .
Therefore you _ all_ are_ being_ devout not _ knowing which , this I am _ proclaiming to _ you_ all .
24 The god which having _ made the earth and all the in it , this being master of _ heaven and earth , is _ dwelling neither in handmade temples , 25 nor is _ being_ healed by human hands , additionally _ needing of _ anything , he giving life , and breath , and the _ all _ to _ all , 26 and he _ made of one , every nation of _ mankind to _ be_ dwelling on all the _ face of _ the earth , having _ designated the having _ been_ commanded times and the boundaries of _ the dwelling _ place of _ them , 27 to _ be_ seeking the god , if perhaps surely they _ might_ grope for _ him and might _ find him , also surely being not far from one each of _ us .
28 For/Because we _ are_ living in him and are _ being_ moved and are , as also some of _ the among you _ all of _ the _ poets have _ said :
For/Because we _ are also of _ the descent .
29 Therefore being descent of _ the _ god , we _ ought not to _ be_ thinking about _ gold or silver or a _ stone mark of _ the _ craft and thoughts of _ human_ origin , to _ be similar the divine .
30 Therefore indeed the god the times of _ the _ ignorance having _ overlooked , now he _ is_ reporting the to _ all _ the people everywhere to _ be_ repenting , 31 as _ much_ as he _ set a _ day in which he _ is_ going to _ be_ judging the inhabited _ world in righteousness , by a _ man to _ whom he _ designated , having _ brought_ about faith to _ all , having _ raised_ him _ up from the _ dead .
32 And having _ heard about a _ resurrection of _ the _ dead , on _ one_ hand they were _ mocking , on _ the_ other_ hand they said :
We _ will_ be_ hearing from _ you concerning this also again .
33 Thus the Paulos came _ out from the _ midst of _ them .
34 But some men having _ been_ joined_ together to _ him , believed among whom both Dionusios the Areopagitaʸs , and a _ woman by _ the _ name Damaris , and others with them .
