OET (OET-RV) I’m writing these things while I’m absent, so that when I’m present I won’t have to treat you all severely according to the authority that the master gave me for building and not for tearing down.

ULT Because of this, I write these things being absent so that, being present, I would not treat you harshly according to the authority which the Lord gave to me for building up and not for tearing down.
UST It is because I want you to trust and obey God completely that I am writing to you about these things while I am apart from you. Then when I come to you, I will not have to discipline you severely. The Lord has empowered me to represent him, but he did that so that I could encourage and help you to trust God more, not so that I could discourage you from trusting God.
BSB § This is why I write these things while absent, so that when I am present I will not need to be severe in my use of the authority that the Lord gave me for building you up, not for tearing you down.
BLB Therefore I write these things being absent, so that being present I should not treat you with severity according to the authority that the Lord has given me for building up and not for tearing down.
AICNT For this reason, I write these things while absent, so that when present, I may not use severity according to the authority which the Lord gave me for building up and not for tearing down.
OEB This is my reason for writing as I am now doing, while I am away from you, so that, when I am with you, I may not act harshly in the exercise of the authority which the Lord gave me – and gave me for building up and not for pulling down.
WEBBE For this cause I write these things while absent, that I may not deal sharply when present, according to the authority which the Lord gave me for building up and not for tearing down.
WMBB (Same as above)
NET Because of this I am writing these things while absent, so that when I arrive I may not have to deal harshly with you by using my authority – the Lord gave it to me for building up, not for tearing down!
LSV Because of this, these things—being absent—I write, that being present, I may not treat [any] sharply, according to the authority that the LORD gave me for building up, and not for casting down.
FBV That is why I write about this while I'm not with you, so that when I am with you I won't have to treat you harshly by imposing my authority. The Lord gave me authority for building up, not for tearing down.
TCNT The reason I am writing these things to you while I am absent is so that, when I am present, I will not need to be harsh in my use of authority, which the Lord has given me for building up and not for tearing down.
T4T That is why I am writing these things while I am still away from you. What I want is that when I visit you, you will already be conducting your lives as God wants you to, and so I will not have to discipline you severely, as the Lord Jesus Christ gave me the authority to do. The authority that I have from the Lord is to help you to become spiritually mature believers, not to cause you to stop trusting in him.
LEB Because of this, I am writing these things although I[fn] am absent, in order that when I[fn] am present I may not have to act severely according to the authority that the Lord has given me for building up and not for tearing down.

BBE For this cause I am writing these things while I am away, so that there may be need for me, when I am present, to make use of sharp measures, by the authority which the Lord has given me for building up and not for destruction.

13:10 Paul did not want to deal severely with the Corinthians by punishing the offenders (12:21). He wanted to exercise his apostolic authority in a positive way, but his ministry required him both to strengthen and to tear . . . down (cp. Jer 1:10).
• to strengthen you (or to build you up): This is Paul’s favorite expression for a stable Christian community (see Eph 4:12), in which the Lord lives both in and among the believers (2 Cor 13:5).
Note 1 topic: writing-pronouns
διὰ τοῦτο
because_of this
The pronoun this refers to what Paul has just written in verse 9, that he wants the Corinthian believers to be restored to a right relationship with God. If this is not clear for your readers, you could repeat that information here. Alternate translation: [Because I want you to be restored to God]
Note 2 topic: writing-pronouns
ταῦτα
these_‹things›
The words these things refer to what Paul has written in the entire letter, but especially to the warnings and exhortations in chapters 10-13. If this is not clear for your readers, you could include that information here. Alternate translation: [the things in this letter]
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / abstractnouns
κατὰ τὴν ἐξουσίαν ἣν ὁ Κύριος ἔδωκέν μοι
according_to the authority that the Lord gave ˱to˲_me
If your language does not use an abstract noun for the idea of authority, you could express the same idea in another way. Alternate translation: [as the person that the Lord has authorized]
Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor
εἰς οἰκοδομὴν καὶ οὐκ εἰς καθαίρεσιν.
for building and not for tearing_down
Here, Paul is speaking of the Corinthian believers as if they were a building. If it would be clearer in your language, you could use a more natural metaphor for this or you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [to help you become more faithful to Christ and not to make you want to forsake him]
