BrLXXΚαὶ ἐλάλησεν αὐτοῖς λόγους εἰρηνικοὺς ἐν δόλῳ· καὶ ἐνεπίστευσαν αὐτῷ· καὶ ἐπέπεσεν ἐπὶ τὴν πόλιν ἐξάπινα, καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτὴν πληγὴν μεγάλην, καὶ ἀπώλεσε λαὸν πολὺν ἐξ Ἰσραήλ.
   (Kai elalaʸsen autois logous eiraʸnikous en dolōi; kai enepisteusan autōi; kai epepesen epi taʸn polin exapina, kai epataxen autaʸn plaʸgaʸn megalaʸn, kai apōlese laon polun ex Israaʸl. )

BrTrand spake peaceable words unto them, but all was deceit: for when they had given him credence, he fell suddenly upon the city, and smote it very sore, and destroyed much people of Israel.
