TSNTyndale Study Notes:

2:20 keep her family background and nationality a secret: That this is mentioned twice (see also 2:10) indicates how important it was for the rest of the story.
• With humility, she was still following Mordecai’s directions. She did not become conceited and forget her people or the family that raised her.

UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / doublet

מֽוֹלַדְתָּהּ֙ וְאֶת־עַמָּ֔הּ

family,her and=DOM people,her

These two short phrases mean almost the same thing. They are used together to emphasize that Esther followed Mordecai’s instructions exactly. You could combine them, as UST does. Alternate translation: “who her relatives were or that she was a Jew”

כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה עָלֶ֖יהָ מָרְדֳּכָ֑י

just=as commanded on/upon=it(f) Mārəddəkay

Alternate translation: “just as Mordecai had instructed her” or “as Mordecai had made her promise” or “because Mordecai had warned her not to tell anyone”
