OET (OET-RV) Judas said, “Let it not be so that I should do this thing, to flee from them. If our time has come, let’s die in a manly way for our kindred’s sake, and not leave a cause of reproach against our honour.”
BrLXX Καὶ εἶπεν Ἰούδας, μή μοι γένοιτο ποιῆσαι τὸ πρᾶγμα τοῦτο, φυγεῖν ἀπʼ αὐτῶν, καὶ εἰ ἤγγικεν ὁ καιρὸς ἡμῶν, καὶ ἀποθάνωμεν ἐν ἀνδρείᾳ χάριν τῶν ἀδελφῶν ἡμῶν, καὶ μὴ καταλίπωμεν αἰτίαν τῇ δόξῃ ἡμῶν.
(Kai eipen Youdas, maʸ moi genoito poiaʸsai to pragma touto, fugein apʼ autōn, kai ei aʸngiken ho kairos haʸmōn, kai apothanōmen en andreia ⱪarin tōn adelfōn haʸmōn, kai maʸ katalipōmen aitian taʸ doxaʸ haʸmōn. )
BrTr Then Judas said, God forbid that I should do this thing, and flee away from them: if our time be come, let us die manfully for our brethren, and let us not stain our honour.
