14 At that the time , Haʸrōdaʸs the quarter _ ruler heard the report of _ Yaʸsous , 2 and he _ said to _ the servants of _ him :
This is Yōannaʸs the immerser , he was _ raised from the dead , and because _ of this the miracles are _ working in him .
3 For/Because the Haʸrōdaʸs having _ apprehended the Yōannaʸs , bound him and put _ him _ away in prison , because _ of Haʸrōidias , the wife of _ Filippos , the brother of _ him .
4 For/Because the Yōannaʸs was _ saying , to _ him It _ is_ not _ permitting for _ you to _ be_ having her .
5 And wanting to _ kill_ him _ off , he _ was_ afraid the crowd , because they _ were_ having him as a _ prophet .
6 But for _ the _ birthday_ celebrations of _ the _ Haʸrōdaʸs having _ become , the daughter of _ the _ Haʸrōidias danced in the midst and brought _ pleasure to _ the _ Haʸrōdaʸs , 7 whence with an _ oath , he _ promised to _ give to _ her whatever if she _ may_ request .
8 And which having _ been_ urged_ on by the mother of _ her :
Give to _ me , she _ is_ saying :
here on a _ platter , the head of _ Yōannaʸs the immerser .
9 And the king was _ sorrowed but because _ of the oaths and the reclining , he _ commanded it to _ be_ given .
10 And having _ sent , he _ beheaded Yōannaʸs in the prison .
11 And the head of _ him was _ brought on a _ platter , and it _ was_ given to _ the little _ girl , and she _ brought it to _ the mother of _ her .
12 And having _ approached , the apprentices/followers of _ him took _ away the corpse and buried him , and having _ come , they _ reported to _ the _ Yaʸsous/(Yə hōshūˊa) .
13 And the Yaʸsous having _ heard , withdrew from _ there by boat to a _ desolate place by himself .
And having _ heard it , the crowds followed after _ him on _ foot from the cities .
14 And having _ come_ out , he _ saw a _ great _ crowd , and he _ was_ feeling_ compassion to them and healed the sick of _ them .
15 And evening having _ become , the apprentices/followers approached to _ him saying :
The place is desolate and the hour already passed _ by , send _ away the crowds , in _ order_ that having _ gone_ away into the villages , they _ may_ buy foods for _ themselves .
16 But the Yaʸsous said to _ them :
They _ are_ having no need to _ go_ away .
You _ all give something to _ them to _ eat .
17 And they are _ saying to _ him :
We _ are_ not _ having anything here , except not/lest five loaves and two fishes .
18 And he said :
Be _ bringing them here to _ me .
19 And having _ commanded the crowds to _ be_ sat_ down on the grass , and having _ taken the five loaves and the two fishes , having _ looked_ up to the sky , he _ blessed and having _ broke , gave the loaves to _ the apprentices/followers , and the apprentices/followers to _ the crowds .
20 And all ate and were _ satisfied , and they _ took_ up the part being _ leftover of _ the fragments , twelve baskets full .
21 And the eating were about five _ thousand men , apart _ from women and little _ children .
22 And immediately he _ compelled the apprentices/followers to _ board into the boat , and to _ be_ going_ before him to the side across , until of _ which he _ may_ send_ away the crowds .
23 And having _ sent_ away the crowds , he _ went_ up on the mountain by himself to _ pray .
And evening having _ become , he _ was alone there .
24 And the boat was now the _ midst the of _ the _ sea , being _ tormented by the waves , because/for the wind was contrary .
25 And in _ the _ fourth watch of _ the night , he _ came to them walking on the sea .
26 And the apprentices/followers having _ seen him walking on the sea were _ disturbed saying , that It _ is a _ ghost , and they _ cried_ out in the fear .
27 But immediately the Yaʸsous/(Yə hōshūˊa) spoke to _ them saying :
Be _ having_ courage , I am here , be _ not _ fearing .
28 And the Petros answering to _ him , said :
master , if you are , command me to _ come to you on the waters .
29 And he said :
Come .
And Petros having _ come_ down from the boat , walked on the waters and came to the Yaʸsous .
30 But seeing the mighty wind , he _ was_ afraid and having _ begun to _ be_ being_ sunk , he _ cried_ out saying :
master , save me .
31 And immediately the Yaʸsous having _ stretched_ out his hand , took _ hold of _ him and is _ saying to _ him :
Little _ faith , because/for why you _ doubted ?
32 And of _ them having _ gone_ up into the boat , the wind died _ down .
33 And the in the boat prostrated before _ him saying :
Truly you _ are the _ son of _ god .
34 And having _ crossed_ over , they _ came to the land to Gennaʸsaret .
35 And having _ recognized him , the men of _ the that _ place sent _ out to all the that surrounding _ region , and brought to _ him all the being sickly , 36 and they _ were_ begging him that they _ may_ only _ touch against _ the fringe of _ the garment of _ him , and as _ many_ as touched were _ cured .
