2 And _ the _ king_ of_ sent of _ ʼAshshūrDOM [the] _ Rab-shaqeh from _ Lākīsh Yə rūshālam/(Jerusalem) _ at to the _ king Ḩizqiyyāh in/on/at/with _ army _ ofmassive and _ stood in/on/at/with _ conduit _ ofthe _ pool the _ upper in/on/at/with _ highway _ of[the] _ field_ of[the] _ washer3 And _ he/it _ went_ outto _ him/it ʼElyāqīm the _ son_ ofḨilqiyyāh who [was] _ overthe _ palace and _ Sheⱱnāʼ the _ secretary and _ Yōʼāḩ/(Joah) the _ son_ ofʼĀşāf the _ recorder .
4 And _ he/it _ saidto _ them [the] _ Rab-shaqeh say please to Ḩizqiyyāh thus he _ saysthe _ king the _ great the _ king_ ofʼAshshūr what the _ confidence the _ this which you _ trust5 I _ sayonly a _ word_ oflips [is] _ a_ planand _ strength for _ the_ war now on whom do _ you_ rely(cmp) you _ have_ rebelledin/on/at/with _ me .
6 Here you _ relyon the _ staff_ ofthe _ reed the _ broken the _ this on Miʦrayim/(Egypt) which he _ will_ support_ himselfanyone on/upon/above _ him/it and _ pierce in/on/at/with _ hand _ of_ his and _ pierce _ it [is] _ thusParˊoh the _ king_ ofMiʦrayim to/from _ all/each/any/every the _ rely on/upon/above _ him/it .
7 And _ because/when you _ will_ sayto _ me to YHWH god _ of_ our we _ trustam _ not [is] _ he[the _ one]_ whomhe _ has_ removedḨizqiyyāh DOM high _ places_ of_ him and _ DOM altars _ of_ whose and _ he/it _ saidto _ Yə hūdāh/(Judah) and _ to _ Yə rūshālam/(Jerusalem) to _ (the) _ face_ of/in_ front_ of/beforethe _ altar the _ this you _ all_ will_ bow_ down8 And _ now make _ a_ wagerplease with my _ master the _ king of _ ʼAshshūrand _ give to/for _ yourself(m) two _ thousandhorses if you _ will_ be_ ableto _ set to/for _ yourself(m) riders on _ them .
9 And _ how will _ you_ turn_ backDOM the _ face_ ofthe _ governor_ of(of) _ oneof _ the_ servants_ ofmy _ master the _ least and _ rely to/for _ yourself(m) on Miʦrayim for _ chariots and _ for _ horsemen .
10 And _ now from _ without YHWH have _ I_ come_ upon the _ earth/land the _ this to _ destroy _ it YHWH he _ saidto _ me go _ upagainst the _ earth/land the _ this and _ destroy _ it .
11 And _ ʼElyāqīm _ he/it _ saidand _ Sheⱱnāʼ and _ Yōʼāḩ/(Joah) to [the] _ Rab-shaqeh speak please to your _ servants Aramaic if/because [are] _ understandingwe and _ not speak to _ us Yə hūdī/(Judean) in/on/at/with _ hearing _ ofthe _ people which [is] _ onthe _ wall .
12 And _ [the] _ Rab-_ he/it _ saidshaqeh to master _ of_ your and _ to _ you(ms) sent _ me my _ master to _ speak DOM the _ words the _ these not to the _ men the _ sitting on the _ wall to _ eat DOM dung _ of_ their _ own[fn ] and _ to _ drink DOM feet _ of_ their _ own[fn ] with _ you _ all13 And _ [the] _ Rab-_ stood shaqeh and _ he/it _ calledin/on/at/with _ voice great Yə hūdī/(Judean) and _ he/it _ saidhear DOM the _ words_ ofthe _ king the _ great the _ king_ ofʼAshshūr .
14 Thus he _ saysthe _ king not let _ him_ deceiveto/for _ you _ allḨizqiyyāh if/because not he _ will_ be_ ableto _ deliver DOM _ you _ all15 And _ not Ḩizqiyyāh let _ him_ make_ trustDOM _ you _ allto YHWH to _ say certainly _ (deliver)he _ will_ deliver_ us YHWH not it _ will_ be_ giventhe _ city the _ this in/on/at/with _ hand _ ofthe _ king_ ofʼAshshūr .
16 Do _ notlisten to Ḩizqiyyāh if/because thus he _ saysthe _ king of _ ʼAshshūrmake with _ me a _ blessingand _ come _ outto _ me and _ eat everyone vine _ of_ his _ ownand _ each fig _ tree_ of_ his and _ drink everyone the _ water_ ofcistern _ of_ his _ own17 Until come _ I and _ take _ awayDOM _ you _ allto a _ landlike _ land _ of_ your _ all’s_ owna _ land_ ofgrain and _ new _ winea _ land_ ofbread and _ vineyards .
18 Lest Ḩizqiyyāh he _ should_ misleadDOM _ you _ allto _ say YHWH deliver _ us the _ delivered the _ gods_ ofthe _ nations anyone DOM land _ of_ his from _ hand _ ofthe _ king_ ofʼAshshūr .
19 Where [were] _ the_ gods_ ofmāt and _ ʼArpād where [were] _ the_ gods_ ofə farvayimand _ because/when they _ have_ deliveredDOM Shomrōn from _ hand _ of_ my .
20 Who in _ all the _ gods_ ofthe _ countries the _ these [are _ those]_ whichthey _ have_ deliveredDOM land _ of_ their from _ hand _ of_ my (cmp) YHWH he _ will_ deliverDOM Yə rūshālam/(Jerusalem) from _ hand _ of_ my .
21 And _ silent and _ not they _ answeredDOM _ him/it anything if/because [was] _ the_ command_ ofthe _ king it to _ say not answer _ him .
22 And _ ʼElyāqīm _ came the _ son_ ofḨilqiyyāh who [was] _ overthe _ palace and _ Sheⱱnāʼ the _ secretary and _ Yōʼāḩ/(Joah) the _ son_ ofʼĀşāf the _ recorder to Ḩizqiyyāh clothes torn _ ofand _ told to _ him/it DOM the _ words_ of[the] _ Rab-shaqeh .
