I heard, but I did not understand: In some languages it may be natural to supply an object to either or both of the verbs heard and understand. Here are some ways to do this:

So I asked, “My lord, what will be the outcome of these things?”

So I asked, “My lord, what will be the outcome of these things?”: Daniel asked the angelic figure what would be the end result of everything he had been hearing about. Here are some other ways to translate this:

Daniel expresses the pronoun I twice here, where it would ordinarily be expressed only once. This suggests that he is emphasizing his own part in what happened. It may be helpful to clarify this for your readers. Alternate translation: [And as for me, I myself heard]
