OET (OET-LV) And_I_saw I Dāniyyʼēl and_see/lo/see two others were_standing one here was_to_the_bank_of the_River and_one here was_to_the_bank_of the_River.
OET (OET-RV) Then I, Daniel, looked, and to my surprise, two others were standing there—one on this side of the river and one on the opposite bank.
In this long final vision, Daniel was told of events leading up to the end of the age.
Daniel heard three angelic figures talking to one another by the river.
Then I, Daniel, looked and saw two others standing there,
¶ I, Daniel continued to look at the vision. Suddenly, two figures/beings appeared and stood before me.
¶ I continued looking when suddenly I saw two more angelic beings standing there in front of me.
Then I, Daniel, looked and saw two others standing there: In his vision Daniel next saw two other figures or angelic beings. Here are some other ways to translate this:
I, Daniel, watched as two others stood there, one on each side of the river. (NET)
Then I, Daniel, looked, and two others appeared (NRSV)
two others: The phrase two others refers to two other living beings or figures who looked like men but who were probably angels. If you must indicate who these two others were, try to use a general expression. For example:
two other figures
two other people (CEV)
one on this bank of the river and one on the opposite bank.
One of them was standing on this side of the river. The other stood on the other side.
They stood on the two sides of the river.
one on this bank of the river and one on the opposite bank: The Hebrew more literally says “one here to the bank/edge of the river and one here to the bank/edge of the river.” Here are some other ways to translate this:
one on this side of the river and one on the other side (CEV)
one on each side of the river (NET)
In some languages it may be more natural to combine the information in these verse parts or record it in a different order. For example:
Then I saw two men standing by a river, one on each bank. (GNT)
Then I, Daniel, looked and saw two others standing on opposite banks of the river. (NLT)
Daniel goes on to tell what he saw next in this vision that began in [Daniel 10:1](../10/01.md).

two others standing
Alternate translation: “there were two other angels standing”
12:5 The river was the Tigris River (10:4).
• The two others witnessed to God’s promises (see Num 35:30; Deut 19:15).
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
