TSNTyndale Study Notes:

3:1-66 In this chapter, the author laments what has happened (3:1-20, 48-54), remembers the faithful love of the Lord (3:21-25), describes how God’s people should respond (3:26-47), and calls upon the Lord in prayer (3:55-66).

UTNuW Translation Notes:

General Information:

The writer speaks again about the suffering that God has caused to Jerusalem, but here he speaks of “we” and “us,” not “I” and “me.” In verse 42 the author starts a prayer that he and the people of Israel should pray.

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor

(Occurrence 0) let us return to Yahweh

(Some words not found in UHB: examine ways_of,our and, examine and, return until YHWH )

Here “return to Yahweh” represents submitting to him again. Alternate translation: “let us submit to Yahweh again”
