Literal Version

7:1 Teaching about judging

(Luke 6:37-38)

7Don’t judge others so that you won’t be judged yourselves, 2[ref]because you’ll all be judged in the same way that you judge others. Whatever standard you use on others will be the same standard used on you. 3And why are you looking at the speck in the eye of another person when you have a massive lump in your own eye? 4How could you say to them, ‘Let me get the speck out of your eye,’ when the lump is still in your eye? 5What a hypocrite! First get the lump out of your own eye and you’ll be able to see clearly so then you can help them with their eye.

6Don’t give special things to dogs and don’t pitch pearls to pigs, because they’ll all just trample them underfoot and then they’re just as likely to turn and attack you.

7Be_ not _judging, in_order_that you_all _may_ not _be_judged, 2for/because with what judgment you_all_are_judging, you_all_will_be_being_judged, and with what measure you_all_are_measuring, it_will_be_being_measured to_you_all.
3And why you_are_looking the speck which in the eye of_the brother of_you, but you_are_ not _observing the speck beam in the your eye?
4Or how you_will_be_saying to_the brother of_you:
Allow that I_may_throw_out the speck from the eye of_you, and see, the beam is in the eye of_you?
5Hypocrite, first throw_out the beam from the eye of_you, and then you_will_be_seeing_clearly to_throw_out the speck from the eye of_the brother of_you.
6You_all_may_ not _give the holy thing to_the dogs, nor may_you_all_throw the pearls of_you_all before the pigs, lest they_will_be_trampling them with the feet of_them, and having_been_turned they_may_attack you_all.

7:7 Requesting, searching, and knocking

(Luke 11:9-13)

7Make your requests and they’ll be given to you. Keep looking and you’ll find it. Knock on doors and they’ll be opened. 8Because everyone who makes requests, receives, and everyone who searches will find, and the door will be opened for the one knocking. 9Which one of you who has a child that asks for something to eat would give them a stone? 10Or if the child asked for some fish, who would give them a snake? 11So if evil people know how to give good gifts to their children, how much more will your father in the heavens give good things to those who are making their requests to him?

12[ref]So in every area, whatever you’d like others to be doing for all of you, that’s how you should also be treating them.

7Be_requesting and it_will_be_being_given to_you_all, be_seeking and you_all_will_be_finding, be_knocking and it_will_be_being_opened_up to_you_all.
8For/Because everyone which requesting is_receiving, and the one seeking is_finding, and to_the one knocking it_will_be_being_opened_up.
9Or which a_person is of you_all, whom the son of_him will_be_requesting a_loaf, not will_be_handing_out a_stone to_him?
10Or also will_be_requesting a_fish, not will_be_handing_out a_serpent to_him?
11Therefore if you_all being evil, have_known to_be_giving good gifts to_the children of_you_all, to_how_much more the father of_you_all who is in the heavens will_be_giving good things to_the ones requesting him?
12Therefore all things, if as_many_as you_all_may_be_wanting that the people may_be_doing to_you_all, thus you_all also be_doing to_them.
For/Because this is the law and the prophets.

7:13 The wide and narrow gates

(Luke 13:24)

13Come in through the narrow gate, because there’s a big gateway and a wide path that leads away to destruction and lots of people go that way. 14The gateway leading away to life is narrow and the path has been kept narrow and not many people find it.

13Come_in through the narrow gate, because the gate is wide and the way is broad which leading_away to the destruction, and many are the ones coming_in through it, 14how narrow is the gate and the way which leading_away to the life having_been_narrowed is, and few are the ones finding it.

7:15 Recognising the tree by the fruit

(Luke 6:43-44)

15Watch out for false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inside they are swindling wolves. 16You’ll all know who they are if you observe their fruit. Does anyone pick grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles? 17Similarly, every good tree produces good fruit, but the bad tree produces evil fruit. 18A good tree can’t produce bad fruit and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit. 19[ref]Every tree that doesn’t produce good fruit will be chopped down and thrown in the fire. 20[ref]So then, you’ll know the false teachers by observing their fruit.

15Be_taking_heed of the false_prophets, who are_coming to you_all in clothing of_sheep, but inside they_are swindling wolves.
16You_all_will_be_knowing them by the fruits of_them.
Surely_not they_are_gathering grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles?
17Thus every good tree is_producing good fruits, but the bad tree is_producing evil fruits.
18A_ good _tree is_ not _able to_bear evil fruits, nor a_ bad _tree to_be_producing good fruits.
19Every tree not producing good fruit is_being_cut_off and is_being_thrown into fire.
20Consequently surely you_all_will_be_knowing them by the fruits of_them.

7:21 Words need actions

(Luke 13:25-27)

21Not everyone who goes around calling me ‘master’ will enter the kingdom of heavens—only those who actually do what my father who lives in the heavens wants. 22Many people will complain on judgement day saying, “Master, master, didn’t we prophesy using your name, and exorcise demons using your name, and do many miracles using your name?” 23[ref]Then I’ll have to tell them, “I don’t even know you. Go away from me all of you whose behaviour is against God’s laws.”

21Not everyone which saying to_me:
master, master, will_be_coming_in into the kingdom of_the heavens, but the one doing the will of_the father of_me who is in the heavens.
22Many will_be_saying to_me on that the day:
master, master, not we_prophesied the in_your name, and we_throw_out demons the in_your name, and we_did many miracles the in_your name?
23And then I_will_be_confessing to_them, that I_ never _knew you_all:
be_going_away from me, you_all working the lawlessness.

7:24 The importance of foundations

(Luke 6:47-49)

24Therefore anyone who hears these messages of mine and puts them into practice, they can be likened to a sensible person who built their house on the rock. 25When the rains started and the floods came and the winds blew and battered that house, it was stable because it had been founded on the rock.

26But anyone who hears these messages of mine and doesn’t put them into practice, they can be likened to a stupid person who built their house on the sand. 27When the rains started and the floods came and the winds blew and battered that house, it collapsed with a loud crash.

24Therefore everyone whoever is_hearing the these messages of_me and is_doing them, they_will_be_being_likened to_a_ prudent _man, who built the house of_him on the rock.
25And the rain came_down, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and they_fell_against to_ the that _house, and it_ not _fell, because/for it_had_been_established on the rock.
26And everyone which hearing the these messages of_me and not doing them, will_be_being_likened to_a_ foolish _man, who built the house of_him on the sand.
27And the rain came_down, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and they_struck the against_ that _house, and it_fell and the fall of_it was great.

7:28 Yeshua’s authority

28[ref]When Yeshua had finished sharing all these messages, the crowds were astonished at his teaching 29because he taught like someone who had authority, and not like their regular teachers of the law.

28And it_became, when the Yaʸsous/(Yəhōshūˊa) finished the these messages, the crowds were_being_astonished at the teaching of_him, 29for/because he_was teaching them as having authority, and not as the scribes of_them.
