BrLXXΜετὰ δὲ τοῦτον ἦγον τὸν ἕκτον, καὶ μέλλων ἀποθνήσκειν, ἔφη, μὴ πλανῶ μάτην, ἡμεῖς γὰρ διʼ ἑαυτοὺς ταῦτα πάσχομεν ἁμαρτάνοντες εἰς τὸν ἑαυτῶν Θεὸν, διὸ ἄξια θαυμασμοῦ γέγονε.
   (Meta de touton aʸgon ton hekton, kai mellōn apothnaʸskein, efaʸ, maʸ planō mataʸn, haʸmeis gar diʼ heautous tauta pasⱪomen hamartanontes eis ton heautōn Theon, dio axia thaumasmou gegone. )

BrTrAfter him also they brought the sixth, who being ready to die said, Be not deceived without cause: for we suffer these things for ourselves, having sinned against our God: therefore marvellous things are done unto us.


WEBBEAfter him they brought the sixth. When he was about to die, he said, “Don’t be vainly deceived, for we suffer these things for our own doings, as sinning against our own God. Astounding things have come to pass;
