UST Jesus determines where each person belongs, just as the cornerstone determines where each stone fits in the building. Just as a builder joins stones together to make a holy temple, Jesus is assembling his family of believers to be one holy group which serves the Lord.

Paul continues to speak of Christ’s family as if it were a building. In the same way that a builder fits stones together while building, so Christ is fitting us together. Alternate translation: [all of us, as we grow together, become a holy group that worships God]
