Normally the OET discourages the reading of individual ‘verses’, but this view is only designed for doing comparisons of different translations. Click on any Bible version abbreviation down the left-hand side to see the verse in more of its context. BrTr For, look, for what things they grudged, when they were punished, that is, for them whom they thought to be gods; [now] being punished in them, when they saw it, they acknowledged him to be the true God, whom before they denied to know; and therefore came extreme damnation upon them.
WEBBE For through the sufferings they were indignant of,
⇔ being punished in these creatures which they supposed to be gods,
⇔ they saw and recognised as the true God him whom they previously refused to know.
⇔ Therefore also the result of extreme condemnation came upon them.
