OET (OET-LV)(for the one having_worked in_Petros for commission of_the circumcision, worked also in_me toward the pagans),

OET (OET-RV)because the same God who worked in Peter to assign him to the Jews also worked in me to assign me to the non-Jews.

uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / infostructure

ὁ γὰρ ἐνεργήσας Πέτρῳ εἰς ἀποστολὴν τῆς περιτομῆς, ἐνήργησεν καὶ ἐμοὶ εἰς τὰ ἔθνη

the_‹one› (Some words not found in SR-GNT: ὁ γάρ ἐνεργήσας Πέτρῳ εἰς ἀποστολήν τῆς περιτομῆς ἐνήργησεν καί ἐμοί εἰς τά ἔθνη)

This entire verse is a parenthetical statement. In this verse Paul gives the reason why the leaders of the church in Jerusalem determined that Paul was authorized and commissioned by God to bring the gospel to non-Jews. Use a natural form in your language for introducing and/or expressing a parenthetical statement.

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit

the_‹one›

Here, the one refers to God. If it would be helpful to your readers, you could indicate that explicitly. Alternate translation: [God]

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy

τῆς περιτομῆς

˱of˲_the circumcision

See how you translated the phrase the circumcision in [2:7](../02/07.md).

Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / ellipsis

ἐνήργησεν καὶ ἐμοὶ εἰς τὰ ἔθνη

worked (Some words not found in SR-GNT: ὁ γάρ ἐνεργήσας Πέτρῳ εἰς ἀποστολήν τῆς περιτομῆς ἐνήργησεν καί ἐμοί εἰς τά ἔθνη)

Paul is leaving out some of the words that a sentence would need in many languages to be complete. If it would be helpful in your language, you could supply these words from the context. Alternate translation: [also worked in me for my apostleship to the Gentiles] or [also worked in me for apostleship to the Gentiles]

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

2:1-10 During Paul’s second visit to Jerusalem, the other apostles affirmed his message. Traditionally, this passage has been seen as a description of the church council (Acts 15:1-41), but it is much more likely that Paul was talking about his previous visit to Jerusalem (Acts 11:30; 12:25; see Galatians Book Introduction, “Date of Writing”).

OET (OET-RV)because the same God who worked in Peter to assign him to the Jews also worked in me to assign me to the non-Jews.

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
