Here the phrase to strengthen introduces the purpose for which Paul prays that the Lord will make the Thessalonians increase in love (see [3:12](../03/12.md)). If it would be helpful in your language, you could use a word or phrase that introduces a purpose. Alternate translation: [in order that he might strengthen] or [and I pray those things so that he might strengthen]
