BrTr And ye shall know that I have sent this commandment to you, that my covenant might be with the sons of Levi, saith the Lord Almighty.
ULT So you will know that I have sent this command to you, that my covenant may continue to be with Levi,” says Yahweh of hosts.
UST When that happens, you will know that I warned you like this, in order that you descendants of Levi will obey my covenant with the priests.”

2:4 “Levi”: this refers not only to Levi, but to his descendants as priests.

2:4 my covenant with the Levites: If the Levites would give themselves to serving God and forsake their own glory, God would give them life and peace (2:5; cp. Num 8:5-26; 25:12-13). Their special responsibility was to teach God’s instructions (Mal 2:7).

Yahweh means implicitly that he has given this commandment so that his covenant with Levi will continue. He says in 3:3 that he will “purify the sons of Levi” so that they will once again perform their duties “in righteousness.” You could indicate the meaning here explicitly if it would be helpful to your readers. Alternate translation: “so that my covenant with Levi will continue”

Lēvīh
Yahweh is using the name Levi by association to mean the priests who descended from that man and who served in the tabernacle and temple in subsequent generations. Alternate translation: “the descendants of Levi who became priests”
