Prophet

The prophet was able to speak to God on behalf of the people. Often in this chapter, the prophet speaks in Israel’s place and offers repentance to Yahweh. (See: prophet and repent)

This closing chapter moves from a lament over a corrupt society (verses 1–6) to confidence in Yahweh (verses 7–13), a prayer for God’s people (verses 14–17), and a hymn of praise (verses 18–20).

Shifting speakers and addressees
