(Toutous men gar hōs pataʸr nouthentōn edokimasas, ekeinous de hōs apotomos basileus katadikazōn exaʸtasas. )

BrTr For these thou didst admonish and try, as a father: but the others, as a severe king, thou didst condemn and punish.
