OET (OET-LV) And_if someone_will_overpower_him the_one the_two_people they_will_stand before_him and_the_thread (the)_threefold not (in)_quickly it_will_be_torn_apart.
OET (OET-RV) And even if one person would be easily overpowered,
⇔
two people could stand against an attacker.
⇔
A three-stranded rope can’t be easily broken.
Note 1 topic: writing-pronouns
וְאִֽם יִתְקְפוֹ֙ הָאֶחָ֔ד
and=if someone,will_overpower_him the=one
The pronouns he and him in this clause have different referents. The pronoun he refers to an attacker, while him refers to the person who is alone. It may be helpful to clarify this for your readers. Alternate translation: [And if an attacker overpowers the one person]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor
וְהַחוּט֙ הַֽמְשֻׁלָּ֔שׁ לֹ֥א בִמְהֵרָ֖ה יִנָּתֵֽק
and,the,thread (the),threefold not (in),quickly broken
Solomon is speaking as if the bond between three people were a three-fold rope that cannot easily be torn in two. He means that three people united together are very strong. Your language may have a comparable expression that you can use in your translation, or you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [and three people standing together will not be quickly defeated]
Note 3 topic: writing-proverbs
וְהַחוּט֙ הַֽמְשֻׁלָּ֔שׁ לֹ֥א בִמְהֵרָ֖ה יִנָּתֵֽק
and,the,thread (the),threefold not (in),quickly broken
Solomon uses a proverb in order to illustrate that people who are united are stronger than those who are alone. Translate this proverb in a way that will be recognized as a proverb and be meaningful in your language and culture. Alternate translation: [and a rope of three strands is not easily broken]
Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive
לֹ֥א & יִנָּתֵֽק
not & broken
The expression will not be torn in two is a passive verbal form. If it would be unnatural to use that form, you could express the idea in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: [will not break in two]

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
