20 and_Ben- hₐdad the_king_of ʼArām he_gathered DOM all_of army_of_his and_thirty and_two king[s] with_him/it and_horse[s] and_chariotry and_he/it_ascended and_he/it_laid_siege on Shomrōn and_he_fought against_it.
2 And_he_sent messengers to ʼAḩʼāⱱ the_king_of Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) to_the_city.
3 And_he/it_said to_him/it thus Ben he_says Hₐdad[fn] silver_of_your and_gold_of_your to_me it and_wives_of_your and_children_of_your (the)_good to_me they.
4 And_ the_king_of _he_answered of_Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) and_he/it_said according_to_of_your_message my_master the_king to/for_yourself(m) I and_all that to_me.
5 And_they_returned the_messengers and_they_said thus Ben he_says Hₐdad to_say if/because I_sent to_you to_say silver_of_your and_gold_of_your and_wives_of_your and_children_of_your to_me you_will_give.
6 If/because if about_time tomorrow I_will_send DOM servants_of_my to_you and_they_will_search DOM house_of_your and_DOM the_houses_of your_servants and_it_was every_of (the)_desire_of your_two’s_eyes_of_your they_will_put in_hand_of_their and_they_will_take_it.
7 And_ the_king_of _he/it_called of_Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) to/from_all/each/any/every the_elders_of the_earth/land and_he/it_said know please and_see if/because_that trouble this_man is_seeking if/because he_sent to_me for_wives_of_my and_for_children_of_my and_for_silver_of_my and_for_gold_of_my and_not I_withheld_them from_him.
8 And_they_said to_him/it all_of the_elders and_all the_people do_not listen and_not you_must_be_willing.
9 And_he/it_said to_the_messengers_of Ben say to_master_of_my the_king all that you_sent to servant_of_your at_first I_will_do and_the_thing the_this not I_am_able for_doing and_they_went the_messengers and_they_brought_him_back message.
10 And_he_sent to_him/it Ben Hₐdad and_he/it_said thus may_they_do to_me the_gods and_thus may_they_add if it_will_suffice the_dust_of Shomrōn for_handfuls to/from_all/each/any/every the_people which is_at_feet_of_my.
11 And_ the_king_of _he_answered of_Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) and_he/it_said speak not let_him_boast one_who_girds_on like_one_who_untie/releasens.
12 And_he/it_was just_as_heard DOM the_message the_this and_he was_drinking he and_the_kings in_booths and_he/it_said to servants_of_his set_yourselves and_they_set_themselves on the_city.
13 And_BEHOLD/LO/SEE a_prophet one he_drew_near to ʼAḩʼāⱱ the_king_of Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) and_he/it_said thus YHWH he_says do_you_see DOM all_of the_multitude (the)_great the_this HERE_I am_about_of_to_give_it in_hand_of_your the_day and_you_will_know if/because_that I am_YHWH.
14 And_ ʼAḩʼāⱱ _he/it_said by_whom and_he/it_said thus YHWH he_says by_the_young_men_of the_officials_of the_provinces and_he/it_said who will_he_begin the_battle and_he/it_said you.
15 And_he_mustered DOM the_young_men_of the_officials_of the_provinces and_they_were two_hundred two and_thirty and_after_them he_mustered DOM all_of the_people all_of the_people_of Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) were_seven_of thousand(s).
16 And_they_went_out at_noontide(s) and_Ben- hₐdad was_drinking drunken in_booths he and_the_kings thirty and_two king[s] who_was_helping DOM_him/it.
17 And_ the_young_men_of _they_went_out of_the_officials_of of_the_provinces at_first and_ Ben _he_sent Hₐdad and_people_told to_him/it to_say men they_have_come_out from_Shomrōn.
18 And_he/it_said if for_peace they_have_come_out seize_them alive and_if for_battle they_have_come_out alive seize_them.
19 And_these they_went_out from the_city the_young_men_of the_officials_of the_provinces and_the_army which was_behind_them.
20 And_they_struck_down everyone man_of_his and_ ʼArām _they_fled and_it_pursued_them Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) and_he_escaped Ben Hₐdad the_king_of ʼArām on a_horse and_horsemen.
21 And_ the_king_of _he/it_went_out of_Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) and_he_struck_down DOM the_horse[s] and_DOM the_chariotry and_he_defeated (in)_ʼArām a_defeat great.
22 And_he_drew_near the_prophet to the_king_of Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) and_he/it_said to_him/it go strengthen_yourself and_know and_see DOM that_which you_will_do if/because to_the_return_of the_year the_king_of ʼArām will_be_coming_up on_you.
23 and_the_servants_of the_king_of ʼArām they_said to_him/it is_a_god_of mountains god_of_their therefore yes/correct/thus/so they_were_strong from_him/it and_but let_us_do_battle with_them on_ground if not we_will_be_strong more_than_them.
24 And_DOM the_thing the_this do remove the_kings each from_place_of_his and_appoint governors in_place_of_them.
25 And_you(ms) you_will_muster to/for_yourself(m) an_army like_army which_fell from_DOM_you and_a_horse like_horse and_chariotry like_chariotry and_let_us_fight them on_ground if not we_will_be_strong from_them and_he/it_listened to_voice_of_their and_he/it_made thus.
26 and_he/it_was to_the_return_of the_year and_ Ben _he_mustered Hₐdad DOM ʼArām and_he/it_ascended to_ʼAfēq for_battle with Yisrāʼēl/(Israel).
27 And_the_sons of_Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) they_were_mustered and_they_were_supplied and_they_went to_meet_them and_ the_people_of _they_encamped of_Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) before_them like_two_of little_flocks_of goats and_ʼArām they_filled DOM the_earth/land.
28 And_ the_man_of _he_drew_near the_ʼElohīm and_he/it_said to the_king_of Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) and_he/it_said thus YHWH he_says because that they_have_said ʼArām is_a_god_of mountains YHWH and_not is_a_god_of valleys he and_I_will_give DOM all_of the_multitude (the)_great the_this in_hand_of_your and_you(pl)_will_know if/because_that I am_YHWH.
29 And_they_encamped these opposite_to these seven_of days and_he/it_was in_the_day the_seventh and_it_drew_near the_battle and_ the_people_of _they_struck_down of_Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) DOM ʼArām one_hundred thousand foot_soldier[s] in/on_day one.
30 And_they_fled those_who_remained to_ʼAfēq into the_city and_it_fell the_wall on twenty and_seven thousand man who_remained and_Ben- hₐdad he_fled and_he_went into the_city a_room in_a_room.
31 and_they_said to_him/it servants_of_his HERE please we_have_heard if/because_that the_kings_of the_house_of Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) if/because_that are_kings_of covenant_loyalty they let_us_put please sackcloth(s) on_loins_of_our and_ropes on_head_of_our and_let_us_go_out to the_king_of Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) perhaps he_will_let_live DOM life_of_your.
32 And_they_girded sackcloth(s) on_loins_of_their and_ropes on_heads_of_their and_they_came to the_king_of Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) and_they_said servant_of_your Ben Hₐdad he_says let_it_live please life_of_my and_he/it_said is_still_he alive my_brother/kindred he.
33 And_the_men they_observed_the_signs and_they_hastened and_they_caught from_him and_they_said your(ms)_brother/kindred Ben Hₐdad and_he/it_said go fetch_him and_he/it_went_out to_him/it Ben Hₐdad and_he_brought_him_up on the_chariot.
34 And_he/it_said to_him/it the_cities which he_took father_of_my from_with father_of_your I_will_return and_streets you_will_make to/for_yourself(m) in_Dammeseq just_as he_made father_of_my in_Shomrōn and_I with_covenant I_will_let_you_go and_he_made to_him/it a_covenant and_he/it_sent_out/away_him/it.
35 and_a_man one from_(the)_sons of_the_prophets he_said to his/its_neighbour at_the_message_of YHWH strike_me please and_he_refused the_man to_strike_him.
36 And_he/it_said to_him/it because that not you_listened to_the_voice_of YHWH HERE_you are_about_to_go from_with_me and_it_will_strike_you_down the_lion and_he/it_went from_beside_him and_it_met_him the_lion and_it_struck_him_down.
37 And_he_found a_man another and_he/it_said strike_me please and_he_struck_him the_man striking and_wounding.
38 And_he/it_went the_prophet and_he_stood to/for_the_king on the_way and_he_disguised_himself with_bandage over eyes_of_his.
39 And_he/it_was the_king was_passing_by and_he he_cried_out to the_king and_he/it_said servant_of_your he_went_out in_the_midst_of the_battle and_BEHOLD/LO/SEE a_man he_turned_aside and_he/it_brought to_me a_man and_he/it_said guard DOM the_man the_this if indeed_(be_missing) he_will_be_missing and_it_will_be life_of_your in_place_of life_of_his or a_talent_of silver you_will_weigh_out.
40 And_he/it_was servant_of_your was_doing_of (of)_those and_those and_he he_was_not and_he/it_said to_him/it the_king_of Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) is_thus sentence_of_your you you_have_determined.
41 And_he_hastened and_he_removed DOM the_bandage from_over[fn] eyes_of_his and_he_recognized DOM_him/it the_king_of Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) if/because_that was_one_of_the_prophets he.
42 And_he/it_said to_him/it thus YHWH he_says because you_have_let_go DOM the_man_of my_total_destruction_of_my from_a_hand and_it_will_be life_of_your in_place_of life_of_his and_people_of_your in_place_of people_of_his.
43 And_ the_king_of _he/it_went of_Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) to house_of_his sullen and_furious and_he_went to_Shomrōn.
