OET (OET-LV)Loukas alone is with me.
Having_Taken_up Markos, be_bringing him with yourself, because/for he_is useful to_me for the_service.

OET (OET-RV) Only Luke stayed with me. Fetch Mark on your way and bring him to me also because he’s always very helpful.

uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit

μοι εὔχρηστος εἰς διακονίαν

˱to˲_me useful for /the/_service

Here Paul could be implying that Mark is useful: (1) in helping Paul minister to others, especially by preaching and teaching. Alternate translation: “useful to me in my ministry” (2) in helping Paul to take care of his personal needs. Alternate translation: “he is useful in taking care of my needs”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / abstractnouns

εἰς διακονίαν

for /the/_service

If your language does not use an abstract noun for the idea of service, you could express the same idea in another way. Be sure that your translation fits with the option you chose in the previous verse. Alternate translation: “for ministering to others” or “in serving people”

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

4:11 Luke, the author of Luke and Acts, accompanied Paul in his journeys at various times. It is often supposed that Luke was with Paul as his physician (Col 4:14). Luke was the only one of Paul’s co-workers who was continuously present with him. Thus Paul wished for Timothy to come quickly.
• Mark: Paul’s assessment that he will be helpful to me tells a story of forgiveness and redemption (see Acts 13:13; 15:36-40; see also Col 4:10; Phlm 1:24).

OET (OET-RV) Only Luke stayed with me. Fetch Mark on your way and bring him to me also because he’s always very helpful.

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Greek words that they’re translated from.
