Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the latter days: The common Hebrew conjunction that the BSB translates as Now can mean “and” or “but.” In this context it is not a time word. It introduces what the man in linen had done since Michael had come to assist him against the rulers of Persia. He had been able to leave and come to Daniel. Here are some other ways to translate this:

I have come to make you understand what will happen to your people in the future. (GNT)

Now I have come to help you understand what will happen to your people in the latter days (NET)

in the latter days: The Hebrew phrase that the BSB translates as in the latter days is more literally “at the latter part of the days.” It refers to the future. Here are some other ways to translate this phrase:

at the end of days (NRSV)

at the end of this age (REB)

in the last days (GW)

for the vision concerns those days: The wording of this clause in Hebrew is rather difficult. It literally says “for still/yet a vision for the days.” There are two ways to interpret this clause. They are as follows:

1. The vision concerned the future. It was for (or about) a time that was yet to come. For example:

   For the vision is for days yet to come. (RSV)

   This is a vision about the future. (GNT) (BSB, NIV, RSV, GNT, NASB, ESV, REB, NET, GW, GNT, NLT, NCV)

2. The vision itself was yet to come. That is, the vision was about to be revealed. For example:

   For there is a further vision for those days. (NRSV)

   For here is a new vision about those days. (NJB) (NRSV, NJB, possibly CEV)

It is recommended that you follow interpretation (1), along with the majority of English versions.

those days: This phrase is probably parallel to the phrase in the previous verse part that the BSB translates as “in the latter days” (10:14a). Here is another way to translate this:
