The man in the vision spoke to Daniel. He helped and encouraged him to stand up and listen to the message from God.

10:11a

He said to me, “Daniel, you are a man who is highly precious.

He said to me: The pronoun He refers to the man dressed in linen whom Daniel had seen in 10:5a. Refer back to him in a way that is clear and natural in your language. Here is another way to translate this:

Daniel, you are a man who is highly precious: The Hebrew phrase that the BSB translates as you are a man who is highly precious is more literally “man of value/preciousness.” It indicates that Daniel was very valuable or precious. In some languages it may be natural to reorder 10:11b and c. It is natural to assume that Daniel would first stand up and then listen to the message. For example:
